What kind of car do you drive?

@olaitan Just buy the minivan if you have a third kid. It was great being able to have the whole family (2 kids) plus my mom in a single car. But it got totaled by a drunk driver and I hated the mpg with my long lonely commute so I switched to a RAV4 hybrid. Minivans are bigger inside than a...

As we’re home today w the kids for the holiday…

@rogger And that is why we are moving to flyover country. Kids are still sharing at 7 (boy) & 9 (girl) here and need more privacy. Plus we both WFH and I’m stuck in our bedroom. But we made bank selling this 3/2 and built a new house that’s a 5/3 plus we’ll finish the basement in a year.

Preschool Problem -- Is it worth it?

@ballofconfusion My kids did preschool activities at their in-home daycare, does your provider not have any sort of curriculum for ages 2-5? Some people really just want a play based preschool anyway, more cooperative and less academic. You can always work on letters and their sounds, numbers...

How often do you have date night with your partner?

@jcano Once or twice a year. Babysitting would cost $100 for dinner and a movie. So we go out when my mom is visiting or during a parents night out at the Rec center for dinner only.

    This subreddit needs a wiki

Needed to take a break from work, took a shot at it. :) 1) Will my child forget me at daycare? – No, they won’t. They won’t form a stronger bond with a daycare worker than they have with you, their parent. Do I still get called by daycare worker names, teacher names, day camp counselor names...

Maternity Leave in California - Paid By Employer

@allib425 Agreed, the company will likely top off their pay, why pay the full 100% if the employee has been paying into SDI?
