What’s everyone’s twins going for Halloween?

@maryatexaschristian We’re probably going to do a set or dice for my 2yo b/g twins. My husband wants to be a wizard, so I might make them sparkly purple D6 dice and go as a witch. Ain’t nobody got time to make two D20 costumes… a box… I can decorate a box.

Anyone else feel like it's a struggle to get baby out and about?

@ajay003 I feel you. We had our twins in October last year and they were 11 weeks early. After a long stay in a NICU with them, and immunecompromised preemies, we were very cautious. It’s been hard on everyone, and I can see the difference in their personalities when they get socialization...

What is the dumbest thing you’ve heard?

@ffm1967 We get this a lot with our b/g twins, too. Our most recent version of it, a woman actually argued with me that they are because they look similar. Similar in the sense that they are siblings, ma’am… but no, I assure you, there are some key differences.

How are people moving their twins from place to place?

@shaz7 You can wear one and carry the other, or double wear (which I did in a moby wrap when they were that small). Mostly though, moving one at a time was the way to go. I did eventually get used to picking up and putting down a baby while I was holding the other, but when they were so little...

Tell me I’m not “giving up” or a failure. Feeding 4 day old twins

@igbokwe Whew… I feel you. I really wanted breastfeeding to work, but I had preemies with latch issues and it just never came together. There’s nothing wrong with formula, but there are resources out there for you to make breastfeeding and pumping better. If you can afford a lactation...

My husband and I just got a call after my 14 m.o. daughters’ first week at a new daycare…

@mariskawisse95 Same, we were originally looking at $2500 a month for both, but thankfully the cost lowering programs kicked in before our twins started, now we pay $18.27 a day per kid, which works out to around $800 a month for both. Thank god, because I only take home about $2,600 per month.

What is the dumbest thing you’ve heard?

@donw1245 Omg! Just think for a moment about what she thought would be physically required for them to be “twins” 🤣

    Discharge with feeding tube

@this_dot It’s been a while, but about 4 weeks before we decided to go home with the NG, our final week in the NICU was getting trained on NG insertions feeds.

    Discharge with feeding tube

@this_dot We dealt with a feeding aversion for our daughter, and she was discharged with an NG. Not a stamina issue, she started fighting feeds in the NICU, and that continued once we got home. Feeding aversions sound really scary, but they’re not the end of the world and very possible to...

Tell me your stories of your 28-30 weekers

@kimhimmel My twins were born at 29+3 due to PPROM. My cervix started shortening at 25 weeks. I managed to get two doses of steroids before my water broke at 29 weeks and my labour came on with a vengeance despite meds to try and stall it. They were born at 2lbs 10 and 2lbs 11oz. For the most...
