Here's a laugh! Apparently my 8 month old is a "typical only child"

@naturalgraham4 No, I know it wasn’t your intention and was more an issue with that kid/his mom than any blanket statement. A lot of times it really does just come down to that kiddos temperament. Either way, lots of 2 year olds suck at sharing, so it wasn’t fair for the teacher to blame it on...

Here's a laugh! Apparently my 8 month old is a "typical only child"

@naturalgraham4 Yes, I’ve listened to her podcast, and read no bad kids. I’ve also read how to talk to little kids. In how to talk, anyway, most of the examples are around hitting siblings, so that’s not helpful, but I do remember Janet’s advice and have grabbed his arm when he’s tried to hit...

Here's a laugh! Apparently my 8 month old is a "typical only child"

@naturalgraham4 My kid is also a hitter, more so of me than other kids though 😅 and I don’t do any of those things. No time outs, no spanking, I try to follow respectful parenting, but I’m kind of at the point where I’m worried the lack of punishment means he knows he can get away with hitting.

@naturalgraham4 I think it’s also largely the child’s temperament that decides the behavior. My son doesn’t spend much time around other children outside of daycare (thanks covid) so I don’t exactly get much practice controlling that behavior.

    OAD with no daycare?

@katrina2017 Are you paid under the table? Where is a nanny cheaper than daycare for one child?? Maybe a nanny-share, but once you factor in nanny taxes it’s absolutely not cheaper (and my kid goes to a pricey daycare so this isn’t comparing a crappy daycare with a nanny).
