What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

@yeast786 I was just talking with my husband about how it might be more beneficial for me to be part time when they are in school vs now anyway (it’s not financially an option now, but this makes me feel better). Plus, less worrying about how to get days off for field trips and such.

Having a toddler while pregnant is so rough, can I just complain?

I’m 9 weeks pregnant with a 17 month old. I’m nauseas all day, and vomit 3-5 times a day. Definitely not the worst, but it’s wearing on me. I work full time, which is so hard right now, but I’m so grateful my son has childcare right now because I am a pile of crap every evening and weekend. I’m...

I get so annoyed of hearing “wElL I dOnT kNoW hOw To HeLp UnLesS yOu aSk”…

@savemonopolylatw2votv Sometimes I have a fight with my MIL in my head about how she raised him sometimes 😂 so infuriating. Except I told my husband I’m not his manager. I commented I made a list. If I’m working on something, he can check that list out and start working too.

What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

@alovedivine Thank you! This is a very nice comment. I know it’s silly, but we went from 2 to 3 dogs and 3 was too many. I fear I’ll want three kids because they are so fun and loving, but realistically it will be too many to enjoy.

What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

@katrina2017 That’s exactly how I feel. Even if we can afford 3 (idk it will be tough, especially because of the vehicle situation) I think that two would allow us to do more of the things we’d like in life, and be able to take our kids on more adventures. Plus I have a feeling it would be...

What do your weekday mornings look like?

@nhope When I was pumping, I pumped on the way to and from work so I could be with baby as soon as I got home. I would sometimes pump as soon as I woke up, then again on the way. You have the same commute I did, so I highly suggest some sort of portable pump. I couldn’t believe women go back to...

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@gracesavedmess Just because there’s a calendar, doesn’t mean someone chooses to use it!

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@solomonhall201 LOL. I’m a known lunch forget-er too. I have to chant to myself before I leave “keys, work bag, badge, lunch, kid!”

Am I overreacting to my non-mom friends saying “just pump!” ?

@ckatiejo No one understands unless they are going or recently have gone through it. Even I imagine I’ll forget truly how hard it was one day. I also have dogs, and if I didn’t have anyone to let them out I might understand, especially if you didn’t live close. I have particularly difficult...

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@richardlp I actually don’t know if the alerts would show on his phone, but he’s well aware how to add his own calendar with alerts or to set reminders!

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@dan_r My husband has the calendar on his phone show on the front page, he even said he knew the appointment was tomorrow but it apparently still didn’t click. The calendar even said “husband to take” lol. We have a large kitchen calendar… that’s hasn’t been filled out since May lol. Neither...

What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

@katrina2017 I’m honestly not super worried about where I am at professionally, but I don’t like feeling so out of sorts that I don’t know what’s going on. How old is your youngest? I’m trying to ask this without saying “do you regret it” because I am sure you do not regret your kids, but do...

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@mkstevens83 He definitely knows I’m serious about not continuing to remind him now! I am not an organized person and I made the effort to learn how to not forget things, sure I’ve made mistakes since but if you put in a true effort, it’s possible.

I don’t really have time to make this rant but I feel like I’m about to explode

@eleader22 You need a different office solution until next week, or you need to lock the door and inform your husband you cannot help. Baby can go w him to run errands, as inconvenient as I know that it.

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@dinkold I definitely get what you’re saying, but I can already see me having to say “did you check your email?”. At this point, if there’s something I can do to help besides be his personal reminder-er, he needs to tell me. I’ve tried a lot of different things. I know this sounds selfish and...

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@dinkold My husband is in a trade, so no work calendar that he uses. But, it makes things easier because he really can ask for any day off with 48 hours notice.

How do you have time to do anything?

@demorah39 I SO wish I could trust my parents to drive my kid. My mom wants us to bring him to their house, my husband works at 6am and I work at 7am. It adds 20 ish minutes to my commute plus waking up the baby and actually physically getting him ready. Our van doors no longer open and she...

What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

@shanbless I got you, those were still some of the answers I was looking for! I suppose the benefit of having another one close in age is that drop off schedules will be similar most of the time. We also have 3 dogs, 2 very high energy and needy and I know it’s crazy but I feel like 2 kids...

“Why didn’t you remind me?” -My Husband

@bubblegum2021 Yep. I’ve had my fair share of natural consequences, so hopefully it works for him!
