    Another rash post

@danny2023 I’d rinse, rinse, rinse until they are clear of detergent. Then, I’d either switch to tide original powder or use the free and clear powder with 3/4 cup borax. That detergent I think is discontinued so when it runs out, you could try all free and clear powder. If you do that a while...

    Another rash post

@danny2023 How hard is the water? If you swish an insert in a bowl of water is it cloudy? If you are using borax because your water is hard, you need it in both washes. It’d have to be somewhere around 220ppm or more to be using that much. If it is that hard, again, needs to be in both washes.

I need help!! Wash routine is not working.

@cookie1720 Liquid doesn’t cover as much hardness, just up to 150ppm

I need help!! Wash routine is not working.

@cookie1720 Tide powder covers 200ppm. 1/4 cup borax covers 60ppm. So too much borax. But you might have mineral buildup, I’d strip and sanitize (strip with RLR then sanitize with a bleach soak) and start over.

Prince Lionheart + cloth wipes - bacteria concerns?

@egram I don’t store wipes wet for this reason, I’d have mildew and mold in a day. I just have a spray bottle of plain water and spray when needed.

Q for Parents who started using Cloth w Newborn

@rui I started cloth right away and did have to have newborn sizes. I had about 30 or so, that worked well for us.

Very hard water folks - what do you use for powder detergent?

@defoehorses What about Ariel or Foca powder with a 1/2 cup of borax or full cap of Calgon? Tide free and clear powder is for up to about 100ppm and those amounts of borax or Calgon cover about 120ppm so you’d still not have enough, but maybe Ariel or Foca has a milder scent? I haven’t used them...

What’s a good forward facing carrier?

@playingforthelord World facing is really not recommended for long periods of time, it’s not very comfortable for either human.

Running a clean washer cycle with just bleach and my washer is full of suds 😅 am I using too much detergent?

@mrzaguilar777 Could you be using too many pods? Could be detergent build up from those. But if the detergent is rated for harder water than you have you could end up with detergent build up in your diapers unfortunately. Detergent build up can cause rashes and smells. I’d do a swish test to see...

What’s a good forward facing carrier?

@playingforthelord A back carry would be much better.

    Wash routine reassurance

@highlyfavoured1 I wouldn’t be using bleach every wash. It can be hard on the diapers.

Best Play Yard/Pack n Play Mattress (in Canada🇨🇦)?

@evall If I’m wrong, correct me, but I was under the belief that many pack n plays do not recommend other mattresses in their products? Beds are one thing but pack n plays either want their brand mattress or just the thin pad they provide.

Running a clean washer cycle with just bleach and my washer is full of suds 😅 am I using too much detergent?

@mrzaguilar777 With that water hardness I’d switch to the tide liquid instead of powder. As far as I know the powder is meant for a water hardness of 150-200ppm but the liquid would be perfect for you. Do you use the same detergent for your clothes? Is it a used washer from a previous owner...

    Diaper rash is inevitable

@cathya Nope, not normal to always get rashes. If you change every 2-3 hours and have a moisture wicking material at night it’ll significantly reduce risk of rashes.

    Help pls

@aymgoa Tide powder is for like 150-200ppm so it was causing major detergent buildup which can also stink.

Am I supposed to run 3 whole washer cycles every 1-2 days for 3-8 tiny rectangles?

@wisper Two cycles, hot, with detergent. Spray solids off before the first wash. That’s it. I wash my son’s diapers with his clothes.
  17. M

    Help pls

@aymgoa If you have soft water you should be using tide liquid free and clear, and you need to rinse rinse rinse until all buildup is out. Stripping is for mineral buildup not detergent.

    FTM - Nursery Questions

@reekypear It’s a lot safer long term to change diapers on the floor. Go for a crib and no changing table and just get an easy to clean mat.

@enochswalk Did you do a trip with RLR? I’d do that then do some washes.

Leaks just starting, 7.5 months, advice?

@keris Probably needs boosters. That’s one downside to AIOs, it’s not uncommon that they don’t have enough absorbency.
