@lifepi I have to work overnight to make up for it. Before baby, I used to bill 2200 a year. Our minimum is 1800 and I’ve just been hitting our average to make the 1800 (~150 a month). But for some reason I feel like I’m constantly working. I work 6-7a, then 9/10a til about 6p (I usually eat...
@bobbysunny Yes, well said. I wfh while my baby was 3-6 months and all I wanted to do was play with him. Unfortunately, my job requires me to actually produce work and I lost so much sleep because I’d have to make up time throughout the night. I still stay up overnight most nights trying to...
@byrightpaths Thanks for the advice and tough love. The problem I think is more myself than anything. I love being a litigation attorney and the work that I do. I just feel like there’s not enough time in a day to be a trial attorney and a mom :(
@bartgroot96 Ugh yeah true. The idea of not ending the day with snuggles sucks. On the other hand, the idea of not waking up to my baby’s gummy smile sucks also.
@pilgrim3d It does suck! I had a flat tire the other day. I had to rush to Costco to try and get it fixed and didn’t get home until after LO went to sleep. I also left before he woke up so I didn’t even get to see him that day.

My problem is focusing. When...
@tanuki I’m going to retype my response from another comment and apply it to your comment:
What were you doing before moving to government work? I handle civil litigation and the idea of government just doesn’t seem exciting enough this early into my career (6 years). I know it’s great money...
@wargame_junkie What were you doing before in-house counsel? I handle civil litigation and the idea of in-house just doesn’t seem exciting enough this early into my career (6 years). I know it’s great money but I LOVE doing litigation. I’m so torn between my career and being a mom, which I love...
First and only LO is 7 months. I’m an attorney. I had maternity leave for 3 months and then wfh for 3 months. I just finished my first full month full time in the office….and how are y’all doing it???
My work schedule used to be 9a-6pm or later, depending on my work load.
Now, no matter how...
