Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@intelligentthinking Thanks for your reply and encouragement, lunacait! Did this include an official lunch break or was it not that big of a deal if your lunch time subtracted from your 8 hr/day hours? I know I’m making kind of a big deal about this but guess I am just a bit worried about...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@lehan Our office generally considers this too…7a -3p would imply I am not taking a lunch break and am just eating at my desk and always available. It would be an adjustment because I do sometimes like to take a bit of time away to eat or run a quick errand. Most people are on the 9/80 schedule...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@sophiang Thanks for the reply. My 8 year old is just beginning to get embarrassed of my goodbye affections but my 6 year old is still obsessed with me (enjoying it while it lasts 😆). As they are getting older, I am trying to get them more independent with packing lunches, etc. I think before I...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@sophiang Thank you for your reply. Do both you and the kids do fine with not seeing each other in the morning? I am generally a morning person but there are also lunches to pack, old cat and dog to deal with and all that in the morning. I also like to get my workout in before work. But then I...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@smithers Thanks for that. Yes the hybrid schedule complicates it. I’d be cool with starting at 6:00 but don’t want to not see my kids on the office days. Somehow leaves me a bit sad when I need to be out without saying good morning, etc.

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@aspiringchristian105 Thanks for your thoughts and encouragement. We are pretty much all on the same time zone within my time. With you working 7-3, is a lunch or any breaks implied or do people generally power through lunch? Or is your company happy with 7-3 and a bit of lunch being a full day?

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@tlee43 Thanks for your reply. Do you struggle at all with leaving the house before the kids are awake for the day or is everyone used to it?

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@berthaintan Yes, that extra day to run errands, get in long workouts and get stuff done around the house IS really nice. I just feel it turns us in to a bit of a drill Sargents in the evenings trying to coordinate dinner, activities, bedtime, etc. in the compressed time. Your schedule would...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@amyf90 Yes and all the traffic and everything is worse trying to run around at that time too. Hope you can find a way to shift back to your preferred schedule one of these days!

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@azatinga Often times things get scheduled after 3:00 but I think if everyone was aware of my schedule and I was firm and outspoken about it, that would help. For better of for worse, I now also have the option to log in from home if very necessary. I’m more worried about the meetings that get...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@dksigsys Thanks for the reply. Is most of your office working a total of 8 hours straight without a lunch. If so, did you find that helped or hindered your productivity?

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@heretostayy My workplace sometimes has late afternoon meetings but I think ever since covid and our subsequent return to hybrid, people don’t schedule things quite as late…I think everyone recognized the benefit of not commuting through rush hour so some people leave a bit earlier and then...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@crawfojo14 Gosh I know. Our hybrid start date kept getting pushed back with the different waves of covid. Had I known it would be a full two years of fully remote, I would have planned better for an official schedule during that period. I guess planning has been the one thing none of us have...

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

@crawfojo14 Thanks for your reply. Is a pretty dream schedule! I wish we were fully remote. They have been quite flexible since the hybrid model but it throws off the routine. Lots of moving parts on the office days!

Any thoughts on a 7a-3p work schedule?

I am a full-time working mom (40 hours/week). I have two children in elementary school. Their school starts at 7:30 and finishes at 3:00. I am working at a Fortune 500 company in a hybrid arrangement with M and F working from home if preferred and T, W, Th we are supposed to be in the office. We...
