Setting up a routine isn’t a priority right now

@loreec I’ve mistyped what I meant there. I meant to say ‘could be driving experiences like OPs’ not that’s definitely what’s happening! I just meant socially when people ask about routine I think they’re often asking what your day to day looks like rather than assuming they have something rigid...

Setting up a routine isn’t a priority right now

@loreec I think probably this misunderstanding is what’s driving OP’s experience. We didn’t have any sort of routine we set but we did tend to find ourselves doing certain things at certain times naturally. Like the baby tended to sleep best between 12-6am so we all went to bed at 12. Obviously...

Challenging my doctor’s potentially old school advice on solid food for baby

@mahlalie When I said finger food by 9 months I meant as opposed to just spoon feeding purees! That wasn’t clear, yes around 6 months is the advice for solids in general. Ive also had friends start a big earlier on advice of the dietician as their son had issue with dropping percentiles. I...

Birth story: unplanned c-section. Help me understand what happened. (TW: birth trauma)

@boby777 You did nothing wrong. It sounds like your team tried their best for you too, I’m so sorry it was a traumatic experience. I think it’s worth remembering birth has always been dangerous and while classes which tell you your body is designed for this can be helpful, they’re also...

Challenging my doctor’s potentially old school advice on solid food for baby

@r3b0rn So you’re right!! Fwiw in the UK we don’t see a professional to give us any guidance on how to introduce solids and the NHS says whatever works for you as long as it’s around 6 months, safe for babies and make sure to start finger foods by 9 months. We did the same as you and never saw...

Does this sound like a reasonable and or normal to you life of a stay at home mom to a 2.5 year old?

@drsimonjr This looks similar to us except we’re lucky my partner wfh so he feeds the baby lunch I’ve prepared too. Neither of us are generally ‘resting’ between getting up and the baby going to bed but we try and make sure we’re getting a variation in what we’re doing
