It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@goodtree I know. It’s frustrating when everyone gives you the same unhelpful, helpful advice. Many moms understand that cute clothes or a fancy nursery really isn’t about whether Baby Sue is going to come home and enjoy that customized Etsy name plate. It’s a demonstration of excitement...

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@jamini21 I’m the same way! If we hadn’t moved in the middle of my pregnancy, I probably would have a Pinterest-worthy nursery because I’m creative and it would be fun for me! But I think it’s ok to say, this is about me and me only, not the love I have for my child or how excited I am for them.

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@rhoda I know what you mean. We moved when I was about 24 weeks. I think getting small, cute things that you can put in any room would be cute!

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@afemaledear I agree, and I think that’s totally ok! Like it’s ok to put a lot of time and energy into a project like a nursery and can be a lot of fun! But I definitely wanted more moms to know, it doesn’t mean anything if you didn’t get to it or want to do it!

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@inheretic Would you mind expanding on your sleep situation? I feel like I see more commonly that people keep their babies in their own room for longer citing safe sleep, but I do see others that choose to move them to their nursery younger. How did you guys make the decision?

How it feels to be a pregnant person who got the J&J vaccine 4 days before it was banned

@boateng I can understand your fear, but try to put it in perspective. We’re talking about an absolute minute amount of women who experienced these side effects. The chances of anything happening to you and your baby were higher just getting to the vaccine center and you both are doing alright...

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@derek23 I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. If you’re able to charge him with specific tasks, that might be helpful (tomorrow, I need you to unpack these boxes and put them here). But as for you, maybe try to reframe your mindset - you’re working 7 days a week to better prepare and support your...

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@antholmar Ahh man don’t you just love those moments? Glad it could help you! I get it. Last week I was spiraling about not eating enough dates, meditating or relaxing enough before labor….ironic.

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@annaad0617 I hear you. For the longest time I couldn’t go into her room because it just was so much. My mother in law organized all her clothes while I was away at work one day and I cried because i needed the help so much.

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@1answer2 Trust me, every part of me should have had a gorgeous nursery to share, but we moved unexpectedly in the middle of my pregnancy, so all plans went out the window!

One week post c section and the “help” isn’t really helping

@kanelee5 You’re not being silly, but you also don’t have to just accept whatever they decide to drum up in their minds. Make a list. We need: 2 dinners made, grocery run done, laundry done, these packages mailed, etc

Is it a bad idea to wait until Black Friday to order my car seat / stroller? I’m due December 6th

@mrssmith Not really. In a real emergency, legitimate car seats are available in any big box store at a moments notice. It might not be the one you want, but if you truly needed to, your husband could grab one at the store while you’re in the hospital.

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

@mihitt It’s honestly so true, at least for me. I know the baby isn’t going to use her stuffed animals or care if she’s getting rocked in a rainbow covered room or not. It’s about my personal creative expression of love and motherhood. But, it’s not the only expression of that, nor the most...

It’s ok if your nursery isn’t finished or doesn’t exist

I absolutely love looking through all the beautiful nurseries that get posted here. But I did just want to say that it’s okay if you don’t have one or you’re like me and you’re 38 weeks and it’s not even close to anything. It really is ok. And everyone says “ohhh they don’t even need a nursery.”...
