Need help - ounces per day

@19nanny55 Childcare costs are out of control, IMO.

Need help - ounces per day

@19nanny55 $200/wk is still tough. Kudos to you for working through it. That must have been really stressful.

Need help - ounces per day

@19nanny55 I would be so angry if someone stashed my breast milk and went into emergency formula. How did that convo go? How do they even justify that?

Need help - ounces per day

@decanus My mother is incapable of following a schedule. We’ve had multiple conversations about how babies sleep better when they’ve had adequate naps. She simply can’t leave him alone that long. She changes his clothes three times a day, goes through about 10 diapers, and is constantly doing...

Need help - ounces per day

@katrina2017 She worked at a childcare center for years (decades ago) and is typically very good with babies and young children. But she’s seldom cared for a breastfed baby, so I think that’s the difference. She thought I would switch to formula once I went back to work. She’s made several...

Need help - ounces per day

@tmarcee This! It’s hard to explain how angry I feel when the baby is making a noise and someone is like - maybe he needs a bottle?

Need help - ounces per day

@roniben She formula fed my siblings and me. So there was always more milk and always a bottle. I had always read “you can’t over feed a breastfed baby,” but now I realize that only means if you’re feeding at the breast.

Need help - ounces per day

@oracle999 This is super helpful. Your schedule sounds a lot like mine. Makes me hopeful I can stick it out for a few more weeks until we introduce solids. At the same time, our LC was hesitant about solids until my mom can get the feeding under control. She was afraid baby would be overfed...

Need help - ounces per day

@phyxius Totally get the being tired of arguing. I’ve literally laminated the CDC guidelines for prepping milk and send bottles ready to go. It baffles me how it is so hard. But you’re so right about just loving them. ❤️

@onewingedangel0920 I may have use those exact words when ranting to my husband earlier this evening.

Need help - ounces per day

@carsade I really think you’re right - he’s exhausted and fussy on days after her house. He eats, plays, sleeps in a decent routine when at home. He seems hyper aware of his surroundings right now, so I’m trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that he could be really fussy at her house. I...

@katrina2017 So good to hear this! Easy to doubt oneself and think you’re not feeding enough.

Need help - ounces per day

@iguana02 This makes a lot of sense. She told me today that she’s been feeding him every time he has his hands in his mouth. This is a baby who refuses a pacifier.

Need help - ounces per day

@piepgras I have told my mom she can come to the next peds visit- both LC and MD are super supportive. I may schedule a weighted feed and have her come with me, since we’re about a month out from his next appointment.

@piepgras Childcare is so hard - posting twice to add - we’re on waitlists for childcare centers. It can take 1.5 years+ in my area for full-time. 😫 My daughter was 2 yo when we finally got her in. Edited for clarity bc I posted twice.

Need help - ounces per day

I work eight hour shifts. With a commute, it’s 8.5 or 9 hours away from baby, depending on the day. On off days when baby is with me, he nurses every three to four hours. He’s almost 5 months old, 50th percentile for weight and 40th for height. He has two caregivers while I’m working. One comes...
