    pack n play safe sleep?

@funmilayo Yeah, the comment I replied to was the first one that showed up for me, so I responded with the information I know, but kept reading and saw that! So interesting! Would love to know what those countries know or interpret about these products that the US doesn’t.

What are babies like at 5-6 months

@thomasleonard This is the note I made for myself to remember my now 13-month old at 6 months: -Can sit up on his own for a little bit -Wants to be mobile but isn’t quite there yet -Still sucks his thumb, but likes to play with pacifiers while falling asleep -Squeals and makes noises like he’s...

    pack n play safe sleep?

@achaye4422 This is absolutely not true. The C of the safe sleep ABCs is for Crib, bassinet or play yard. If a sleep space is called a play yard in the product’s manual (a legal document) it is regulated for safe, unsupervised sleep, as long as the caregiver is following all the instructions in...

    pack n play safe sleep?

@jwd Not all play yards allow for a sheet, and some allow only sheets manufactured specifically for that product. It’s always best to check your specific play yard’s manual!

    Starting a co-sleeping tradition - once a week

@imperfectheart Tell me more! The last time I went camping was the same weekend I found out I was pregnant with my now 9 month old. I live in Texas, and today the high is 95° already, so it probably won’t be till the fall, but I would love to do that with my boy! What kinds of things do you...

    pack n play safe sleep?

@ihadavision She might want to be at floor level even before outgrowing the bassinet level. Lots of babies don’t like the bit of movement that happens because of the bassinet mattress being suspended. Maybe some sort of core workouts outside of lifting baby would help? Or making sure you bend...

Daycare is NOT associated with behavior problems in 10,000+ children across 5 countries

@damacri I appreciate that! I often feel bad for myself that he’s in daycare. He seems to like it just fine. I’m finding this whole post and comment section to be frustrating with everyone disagreeing on what’s being presented and the conclusions that can be drawn. I love learning about...

Daycare is NOT associated with behavior problems in 10,000+ children across 5 countries

@elisjohn Thank you! I think I can be extra-sensitive to this topic because 1) I’m an educator and the kids who get on the daycare bus every day are some of the worst-behaving kids in the school I work at, and 2) I have ADHD and am already concerned about the heritability of that and how it will...

Daycare is NOT associated with behavior problems in 10,000+ children across 5 countries

@elisjohn Yeah, I’m not thrilled with OP with this one. I feel so sad that my infant is in daycare and think about the potential future behavior issues because of it a lot. OP posts this and I’m feeling so much better reading their take on the information, then I get to the comments and deflate...

5.5 Hour drive at 35+2 weeks pregnant?

@1kroma My OB was more reluctant to have me driving that far that late in pregnancy than flying because of how rural it is between big towns. My advice would be to look up hospitals along the route that have L&D departments so you know where you can go if you need to on the way. Also, when I...
