Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

@socrateswife It is possible, and from my understanding if one of us absorbed a twin, it would be more likely that a twin chimera gene could be passed to a child. This reminds me of an article I read years ago where a woman was showing she was not the biological mother of the children she...

Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

@elizabeth45036 That’s how it typically works! The breakdown for ABO is USUALLY A(o) B(o) O(o) or AB. Two positives can apparently make a negative but two negatives can’t make a positive.

@bigpicture4 Interesting, I looked this up a bit after your comment and it looks like the change is only temporary? Still really interesting!

Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

@bigpicture4 FASCINATING. My husband was on Methotrexate for about six months for his psoriasis. But would that change the genotype produced in sperm?

Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

@crucker2 I am positive that my husband is indeed the father, and that I’m O+. I’m tempted to get a blood typing kit from Amazon since I know how to do it already and it takes like five minutes haha. But he’ll definitely think I’m crazy when really I’m just curious!

Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

@mikeysavedbygrace He has a true needle phobia so that won’t be happening lol. He did say he’d request a blood type the next time he needs blood work done.

@mikeysavedbygrace I’m definitely O+, they only tested me four times throughout the pregnancy lol. I also got my blood typed when I donated back in high school.

@dlegendjr He’s got a pretty serious needle phobia unfortunately so we’ll wait until he goes for needed blood work.

Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

@keekjaci Not expressing is interesting! That’s where I’m under the impression parental chimerism can come into play. Husband said he’ll request his blood type the next time he needs blood work done, and I’m asking the ped about kid’s tomorrow. If we ARE a rare case it’ll be interesting to see...

Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

UPDATE: it was the most likely answer. Grandma was wrong, dad is B+. I’m not sure where else to ask, and it looks like this might be my best bet! I was always under the impression that O+ and O+ would make another O+ but kiddo is apparently B+! From what I’ve read, that suggests that: one of...
