I’m so tired of hearing what other people did/ are doing with their babies

@charity78777 Lol I tried to dress up my baby in the beginning just to see her getting dirty after 5 minutes with spit, milk and poop, so I gave up. Simple and cheap it is until she can behave like a civilized human being

I’m so tired of hearing what other people did/ are doing with their babies

@vanillaface I agree with you, it’s just having different priorities sometimes and also having the support to be able to do that. Nothing wrong with wanting to wake up earlier to look nicer, far from it, it’s just not everyone will do that. Well I am talking here yet tomorrow I go back to work...

I’m so tired of hearing what other people did/ are doing with their babies

@charity78777 Even if your baby could do all of that, if you don’t want to that should settle the matter. You don’t need to have a baby that does well during long trips to feel obliged to make them, as simple as that. “I don’t want to” should be enough of a reason, none of those things are...

is introducing a pacifier at all a good idea?

@sh419ob If I knew what I know now I would never have introduced it for the simple reason she can’t keep it in her mouth and it generates a lot of frustration. It works like magic though, magic that is gone once they drop it and go mental.

3 weeks solo with toddler. Ways to ease the load?

@joshanna It was surprisingly not as hard as I had expected, apart from the mental component of being completely alone which you won’t be. You’ll come out stronger from this you’ll see :)

3 weeks solo with toddler. Ways to ease the load?

@joshanna Buy almost everything that’s not fresh in advance so you don’t have to go shopping as much nor carry heavy stuff. If you can or wish to hire someone to do a deep clean once so for the 3 weeks cleaning is more manageable. I would say to batch cook in advance but you have that figured...

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@kyleeak I was addressing the WHO bias in everything they do, not talking about those person’s data sources (which have ben discussed in this sub a few times). The time you are spending being so confrontational is the time you should use to look for the data yourself, plus no one will want to...

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@kyleeak I work with WHO and 99% of their work caters to developing countries, the person above is 100% right. That’s the main reason why WHO was not recommending face masks in the beginning of the pandemic: they thought it would be inequitable towards high-income countries which could easily...

Nurse suggested diluting formula as measure against constipation in 7-week old - is this as bad of an idea as I think?

@holy_venom95 When my 2-month old was constipated her pediatrician recommended some constipation-specific formula and that was it. if you dilute formula baby will feel full with less nutrients and beyond what other have mentioned you would be underfeeding them on top. In my country, where...
