Anyone able to share successful pregnancies at age 39 + w/o IVF?

@lilweezy My mom and two other people I know each had us at 40 with (to my knowledge) no fertility interventions, and that was decades ago. It's definitely possible, just less likely than for younger people.

    Denied abdominal u/s at 7+0

@brownwarrior22 Yeah, it's really difficult for them to see anything that early via abdominal, because baby is so small. I'm guessing your provider had given them your LMP, etc. but should have warned you it would be TV.

    pack n play safe sleep?

@silversun Careful about changing out the mattress. Pack n plays have thin ones on purpose because the mesh sides are soft, and with a squishier mattress, babies can get stuck in the space between the mattress and the side and suffocate. Real cribs can have thicker mattresses because the sides...

    pack n play safe sleep?

@gladysrivera We have the guava lotus! We've been using the bassinet part, although we immediately found out that the rocking legs allowed our newborn to roll over - very nerve-wracking and makes me frustrated with the company, because it makes sense when you think about the physics of it...

    pack n play safe sleep?

@ashleye23 Yeah, I have visions of her reaching up her arms and sort of helping, but maybe I should just install a crane or something.

    pack n play safe sleep?

@greyareagcu I'm only 3 weeks postpartum, so my core is still a floppy noodle, but bouncing her on a yoga ball at all hours is helping lol

    pack n play safe sleep?

@ashleye23 Did they say how to get the baby up out of it? We're doing a pack n play instead of a crib, but even with the bassinet part, picking her up is killing my back, and she's only 8lbs. I'm not sure how we'll deal when she outgrows it and has to be at floor level.

@lyn02 r/tfmr_support may be helpful if you do have to make that decision.

    pack n play safe sleep?

@jalopy It was super concerning, and I realized the only way it wouldn't happen is if she's dead center and completely motionless lol. That being said, the non-bassinet version is nice and you can crawl in there with them because it's on the floor and has that side door.

    pack n play safe sleep?

@jalopy That's a relief, then! We're planning to use it instead of a crib, and we're currently using the bassinet. I will say that the rocking legs on the bassinet instantly allowed our newborn to roll over and seem very unsafe for that reason, but they're optional and it seems fine otherwise.

    pack n play safe sleep?

@jalopy Yeah, this has me nervous about using a pack n play as a bassinet/crib. I'm wondering if it's because people swap out the mattress?

@freemanatheist Oh man, it would be so nice to have a heated couch... but so uncool to have it spontaneously combust...
