My husband didn’t know our son’s full birth date

@kumari5050 We joke that there’s always some sort of national disaster the year my kids were born. I have a November 2016 (Zika and election year) and a July 2020 (fucking Covid lockdown started the day I was 20+0 weeks). Then I had a December 2023 due date and we basically held our breath the...

Breastfeeding exclusively 3-6 month old infant while WFH

@wisper Pumping can be hands free. Breastfeeding is not. Also, again, depends on your company. Mine have all had “no childcare while working from home” clauses so I’d have been in HUGE trouble if someone called me and heard my baby. If they heard the pump, it was fine. Edited to add: also, I...

Breastfeeding exclusively 3-6 month old infant while WFH

@wisper Pump and bottle feed when you’re working. I don’t recommend trying to work while providing childcare for your baby, as that’s typically frowned upon (or outright stated as something you can’t do in a WFH position, depending on your company). Seeking advice about having 3 kids in daycare!

@chillcwill I swear to god, I love my kids, but having a baby just before winter break can suck it. All the parents in my area are complaining that the kids only get 1.5 weeks off this year instead of 2 full weeks and I’m here like “dear god, did it have to be 1.5 weeks?!”

Seeking advice about having 3 kids in daycare!

@chillcwill Edit to add # of kids: I have three kids, ages 7, 3, and 2 weeks old. I’m currently on maternity leave and both kids were out of school/preschool this week. I was doing great with my recovery the first week: kids went to school, I just had to care for myself and the newborn. This...
