    @jmcorn Yeah, that makes sense. My kid is very capable of moving things out of the way. He has had those kinds of motor skills for a while!

    @masterpiece That must have changed since I had my baby. The infant safety class I took (about 2.5 years ago) specified one year. It was based off of AAP recommendations at the time.

    @masterpiece I don't think that's true. I thought they were allowed to have blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals in the crib starting at age 1. We were specifically waiting for this so I remember very clearly. Did the safe sleep standards change again? My kid is 2.5 and we live in the US. Here...

    @moonlightlaura I agree with you! We never had an option of grandparents watching our kids, but we are able to afford a nanny. We chose daycare over a nanny for many reasons. I think there are pros and cons to both. All of the daycare benefits you mentioned definitely factored into our decision...

    @grace4nan I completely agree! I much prefer working to being a SAHM. I really need that balance in my life.
