When did you send your only to preschool?

@magdalenab Doubt it. Not saying it isn't possible but this reeks of "parent embellishes/lies to make themselves look like the best parent ever on social media" And I say that as a kid of parents everyone thought were lying when they said I could read before I entered kindergarten. Is it...

    Starting a co-sleeping tradition - once a week

@seedtimeharvest I realize every kid is different, but the only thing my wife and I missed out on by not co-sleeping was even worse sleep than we got when his crib was in our room. Having our own space and own bed has been priceless.

    8 week old sleep expectations

@coffeefiend This sounds incredibly normal. I would not expect a 2 month old to sleep through the night. Hell, my 4MO who now regularly sleeps 8-8.5 hour stretches still doesn't technically sleep through the night, he still needs at least one, if not two overnight feeds most nights. FWIW, nap...

I have full custody of my kids (4, 6 & 8) indefinitely and I don’t know how to tell them why

@aldericus Also, the thing about accusations is, they're not always right. He's not wrong for accusing a known alcoholic who is refusing to be transparent. That's entirely understandable.

I have full custody of my kids (4, 6 & 8) indefinitely and I don’t know how to tell them why

@laxkid3 I understand. My mom has been one my whole life. Just offering other perspectives here as someone with firsthand experience.

About to miscarry at 7 wks gestational age at home alone with a 2.5 yr old

@discipleduchrist What about, you know, paying their bills, keeping their health insurance, keeping food coming in and lights on? Sounds like he's the sole breadwinner in a high pressure job, I can't fathom why so many here are assuming he could just stay home but doesn't feel like it. It...

I have full custody of my kids (4, 6 & 8) indefinitely and I don’t know how to tell them why

@laxkid3 That's all true, but most alcoholics don't have literal legally binding consequences attached to whether or not they allow the test...so the situation here IS a bit different.

I have full custody of my kids (4, 6 & 8) indefinitely and I don’t know how to tell them why

@anonymous1982 I guess, but once he calls it, why refuse then? I have a forever recovering alcoholic mother who has attempted her life a number of times, and even I'm scratching my head here.

I have full custody of my kids (4, 6 & 8) indefinitely and I don’t know how to tell them why

@hanzohamamura But that's the point. Her refusing the breathalyzer is effectively as good as her admitting she had consumed alcohol. If she hadn't consumed, why would she refuse the test? Even if she felt embarassed, attacked, and annoyed by him asking her to do the test, she knows she's...

About to miscarry at 7 wks gestational age at home alone with a 2.5 yr old

@sarahsknight They could pay someone. Even at high prices that's far less of a hit to their finances than him losing his job or days of unpaid time off. She needs to think more out of the box here if he genuinely cannot stay home from work.

About to miscarry at 7 wks gestational age at home alone with a 2.5 yr old

@sarahsknight Literally any other adult in her/their life could be there to prevent this. It doesn't have to be him. Would her husband being there be ideal? Of course. This idea that she could only possibly have help and support if he was there is baffling to me. It seems pretty clear him...

About to miscarry at 7 wks gestational age at home alone with a 2.5 yr old

@huffyhog Also, if OP's DH has been there with her to support her through those other MCs...he may not have PTO/the option left to continue taking more time off work.

About to miscarry at 7 wks gestational age at home alone with a 2.5 yr old

@mijuk95 Who pays the bills if he stops working? Sounds like he's the sole breadwinner in a high pressure job...why is everyone assuming he could take time off and just doesn't feel like it?

About to miscarry at 7 wks gestational age at home alone with a 2.5 yr old

@sarahsknight Because it sounds like he's the sole breadwinner and given how much he travels, probably doesn't have the relative luxury of taking this time off, even FMLA. I mean, FMLA isn't paid. I could've taken FMLA to extend my three week paternal leave, but we literally couldn't afford...
