One and done with an easy pregnancy and easy (so far) baby?

@breanne I had a pretty easy pregnancy and an “easy” delivery with epidural (fairly speedy for a first baby). We sleep trained her at 6 months so she’s been sleeping through the night since then (with the occasional off-night of course). She is a good eater as well. Almost never cries at...

What kind of car do you drive?

@olaitan Toyota Highlander. Technically owned by my parents but they gave it to me to drive years ago and I love it.

    Just a gentle reminder…

@downdraft I’m always very surprised people are willing to post unredacted pictures of their babies and kids on Reddit. This is a public forum and people should be careful.

What can you get done while baby wearing?

@brewster1118 I feel like I can’t really get much done tbh lol. I washed bottles once while wearing her but I had to do it while turning sideways 😂 It’s only good for going on walks for me.

    1 year mark

@ericguitarman I actually thought after 6 months (after we sleep trained) was the milestone for our lives becoming easier. Between 12-18 months, it’s gotten harder only because she is running around all over the place. 😅 (Oh and the terrible twos are smacking us in the face, both figuratively...

What happens to poor sleepers who aren’t sleep trained?

@earp Definitely. And another thing — childcare and labor are expensive in the US. In Asia, hiring a live-in nanny isn’t as expensive.

What happens to poor sleepers who aren’t sleep trained?

@jabberwo0cky Yeah I think sleep training is more for the convenience of parents who can’t mind the baby all night, every night. I think it’s a product of people being so busy and independent here.

What happens to poor sleepers who aren’t sleep trained?

@ebveloz Anecdotal. I was born and raised in another country and sleep training was not a thing. In fact, I think I co-slept with my nannies from age 0-8 lol. I’m a great sleeper now. I can fall asleep easily and wake up easily. I think some just sleep better than others and it has nothing to...

Sad that my husband only wants one

@katrina2017 My experience has been different. You’ve heard of the only child policy right? I know TONS of people who are the result of this policy (including myself), both in China and in the U.S., and in my 32 years alive, I literally have never heard of anyone say they wanted a sibling haha...

Sad that my husband only wants one

@dan2082 But your child is not you. They probably won’t have a yearning for a sibling. Let them hang out with friends. Let them play and join them. And also you said you love being a mother and it’s your calling… aren’t you still a mother even if you have one child? How does having more...

Guilt when Dad looks after baby?

@genine Hell no!! It’s his baby too! 😄 I’m on maternity leave. My husband doesn’t get any parental leave, but he works from home. We split the nights and he does what he can during the day when he’s not busy with work. I exclusively pump and he washes all the bottles and pump parts. In my...

6 weeks old, and I’m ready to crumple

@griffin71 My husband and I split the night so each of us will get 5-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep (unless I have to pump). Can your partner do the same?
