    On a first-name basis with 2-yo

@stop_cern_idea Our 4 year old still has no idea what our names are. His dad has the same name as a character in a show he watches, so he just thinks everyone is talking about that show when they say dad’s name. My name is just a regular word, so I don’t think he really realizes it’s associated...

Question about herpes and its contagion.

@msavage My mom is mentally ill. She’s verbally abusive. (And physically when I was a kid.) I will be honest with you. I couldn’t do it on my own. When my husband and I were first married I told him stories about her. He thought I was exaggerating, until he met her. (We eloped and he didn’t meet...

Question about herpes and its contagion.

@msavage I was also no contact for years and we finally started doing video calls when our son was 2. She’s only allowed to have my husband’s phone number and we always call as a family. My husband is always there to shut down the bullshit.

    On a first-name basis with 2-yo

@xpertboy Ours pronounces part of our last name as ‘nude’. He doesn’t know it means naked, but we get some strange looks when he tells people his full name.

Question about herpes and its contagion.

@wobblybobbly56 I’ve had it since I was a toddler. I likely got it from my dad. He was very careful, but I still ended up with it.

Question about herpes and its contagion.

@msavage I’m an adult who gets cold sores. I’ve gotten them since forever. I’m very careful when I have an outbreak, but I will say, cold sores aren’t that terrible. If she gets them, it’s not the end of the world. The concerning part is your mother. It’s easy for strangers to type these sorts...

Help me please, before I lose my ever loving mind. Read full post!

@amayasasaki We use a gate in the doorway so he feels like he has access to us. He can ask for one (and only one) more hug and a drink if he runs out. Other than that, we only go to the gate if he hurts himself or he poops. If we have to go to the gate, we reinforce that it’s bedtime and he...

Can a 2yr old recognize letters?

@slyanimal Our son could recognize all the letters by 2 and all the sounds by 3. He’s not any closer to reading at 4, but the kid knows his letters. Keep it going. Kids will surprise you.

Does your toddler play independently when they wake up in the morning?

@carrie1973 Our youngest just started playing in his room quietly when he wakes up. He’s 4. But our oldest loved to play by himself and would never wake me up unless he had to. I think it just depends on the kid. Our youngest thinks if he’s awake, everyone should be awake.
