How do I stop worrying about the “numbers?”

@hasibiz I also get concerned. Everyone says not to track but I still want to. I like the data. When it goes down (or up) significantly I usually attribute it to a growth spurt or maybe teething/sick. Tracking the whole day makes me realize even though certain feeds are low the overall day is on...

I was not expecting taking care of a newborn to be so hard

@atlanta I think you just don’t get it until you’re actually going through it. And as much as I wasn’t prepared for how hard I think if someone had warned me it was hard I would’ve not found that helpful or just waved them off. Everyone experiences it differently so I think instead of warning...

    Formula math question

@levation1 We find it easier to track with ml vs oz. It allows us to be a bit more precise. So we track a 4oz bottle as approximately 135ml and then subtract whatever is left in the bottle to figure out how much she drank

Babies Get Bored Too: The Science Behind Infant Boredom

@timothy1212 While they can get bored I also think it’s important to not suddenly change things the second you think they are bored and feel like you constantly have to entertain them. Because they can’t tell you why they are fussing it’s just your interpretation of why they are acting like...

My baby is 12 weeks tomorrow and she already uses tummy time to desperately try to crawl although she can’t make any progress. I’m really excited for her to be...

Looking for books covering tons of topics, avg newborn temperatures, when and how long to swaddle, tips and tricks

@marlovesjesus I’d go to your bookstore and read through to see what you like. There are a few I liked - what to expect the first year, cribsheet are two that I liked. You can also find a lot of stuff online but of course they will vary slightly in their recommendations (ie stop swaddling at 8...

Seeking advice for difficult bottle feedings when awake

@cow_boy Oh my baby had something similar at 8 weeks. I think it was related to gas. She would drink then stop and cry out and flail and then drink again. Is your baby also farting? It seems like she was getting most of her gas and poops out while drinking and it was uncomfortable. It might not...
