Do you think i would deserve Christmas presents if you had 3 F’s in school?

@kolson0319 Gifts on a birthday or Christmas aren’t about academic results, to me. A gift isn’t earned, it’s a choice someone makes to show a physical representation of their care for you. I guess the side question here is — is this being asked because you’re feeling bad or ashamed? And are...

I'm writing a kids book (ages 3-6) about mental illness and need some advice

@sab8 My two cents; I think (especially if you aren’t a parent) that it would be worthwhile finding a child psychologist that could perhaps mentor you through this process. In the interest of success when it comes time to look at publishing, I’d personally (if I were in your shoes) want to...

6 y.o. advised to get 8 crowns! What the what!?

@on_a_mission_ We didn’t get crowns for our kids, but the dentist advised a sealing barrier to help protect them. I can’t remember the actual technical name — but we did that because it was covered under Medicare (Australia) and it wasn’t invasive.

My 8 y/o daughter came out as bi but she doesn’t understand what the means and I need advice

@chd62 I’m curious; would you say that to a child if they expressed a crush on the opposite sex, that they’re “too young to know”? Because nobody ever does, they only say it to queer kids. She might very well change in her sexuality multiple times as she works it out. But is there a valid reason...

Does anyone else have a completely healthy older kiddo that still wets the bed?

@gspfever08 Do you not know what a pediatrician or urologist is, or did you just not bother to read the post?

I’ve been 17 for 3 months, and I still haven’t solved a single integration. Did I disappoint my parents?

@gazenhauser No, I wouldn’t. As much as teachers push the idea that your life will be a mess if you don’t learn (insert thing here), it often isn’t based in reality. - Is life easier when you know stuff? Yes. - Is life easier when you follow a clear career path and are educated? For the most...

Shorter parents, do y’all worry about your son’s eventual height and whether or not it will prevent him from marrying if he so desires?

@asker Definitely not literally only a thing in USA. Just watched a Vice documentary about an Indian man who underwent a horrible and risky surgery to gain 14 cm of height because he wasn’t taken seriously — and dude had a masters degree. (Or was it a PhD?) Anyway, he was hugely successful...

How to deal with daughter’s first boyfriend? Don’t want to be “that mom”

@angroth33 Young mum here too, I was pregnant at 19. I’d take some comfort in the fact that if she’s 14, it would be very uncommon if this dude is her forever-boyfriend. You might just not know him well enough yet, or he might very well be a prick as you suspect — and it sucks when you don’t...

1 year old with gross motor delay and poor appetite. Constantly told everything is “fine”

@boanerges1989 This may be completely irrelevant, but my dentist picked up on my kid’s eye bags and said “I reckon she can’t breathe out her nose. Am I right?” He was, chronic mouth breather. Turns out, swollen adenoids were the culprit. So much better since surgery. I’m not sure how young this...
