Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

@julianwithjesus This describes me exactly! Went to law school (lots of time and $) and put in some hellish years at big law firms so I feel like I can’t just stop and leave it all. But I get nothing from it.

Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

@micrx Yep- I started disliking “adult (work) interactions” way more after kids! So hard to pretend to care about work when my mind is racing thinking about everything but work. Glad you got to step away and make the choice that made you happier!

Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

@paulinderjeetkhokher Great points— I think you’re right. I should have said “I won’t stop working (for financial and other reasons)…”, because I do think it would change (for the worse) so much about our life/marriage/mental state. I agree- wish I could work part time for full pay and still...

Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

@crossroads100 Congratulations! How exciting for you 💕 Edit to add- My DREAM is to stop working when my youngest reaches kindergarten/1st grade. I’m telling myself that I have to work til then, and at that point I’ll either be able to stop OR I’ll be more senior and have a better feeling about...

Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

@bethel8 Yes this explains it so well!! I just love getting things DONE and done well. I’d prefer my effort went toward my own home/family as opposed to some project at work

Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

@jesusloves91352 Woah wanna know what’s crazy? I could have written the parts you wrote about your current role! Same exact thing for me— for the first time, I LOVE my team and am in an ideal role. But I’m still feeling all of this. We’re not alone!

Shall we go from 2 to 3?

@clanofails Seconding the babysitters piece! The transition from 2-3 has been so easy for us but we definitely have struggled to find sitters… I find myself almost feeling guilty asking someone to watch all 3, even though we pay them generously! That said- go for it! 🙃

Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

I often see this cited as a reason people love/need to work, but I just do not feel it. I’m currently on my third maternity leave and no part of me “misses adult interaction.” 😬 I also generally don’t miss the satisfaction or validation I get from work. I have a pretty high-level job that...

What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

@southlander 3 kids here, and same. I try to only use my weekends when I really have to. I also let my team know when I’m “OOO” for a sick kid and explain that I’m generally around and working when I can but calls can be tough and may get cut short. I kinda try to make them like “1/2 days” by...
