Your experiences formula feeding in public

@eilightened Not a sane person will care. They’ll see a mom bottle feeding her baby. The insane ones will, however, chastise you for baby not wearing socks when it’s 90 degrees. Also, you will most likely stop caring about whether you bf sooner than you think. 6 months and starting solids comes...

Baby’s new pediatrician told us that formula has no nutritional value 😳

@etolkk123 Did his former ped prescribe it based on signs of anemia or running lab work? If so, then I’d continue until you’re able to get in with a new pediatrician. I’m not a medical professional and so take what I say with a grain of salt, but if that wasn’t the case then he could be getting...

Baby’s new pediatrician told us that formula has no nutritional value 😳

@etolkk123 Hi, not a doctor but went through a similar line of questioning with my first: you do NOT need to give an otherwise healthy formula fed baby iron or any other multivitamin. Formula math question

@nanbee I’m genuinely not sure what’s so difficult to understand about the fact that formula is how the baby gets its nutrition via the calories in the powder. They’re not getting calories from the water. The whole point of tracking oz consumed is to know how much nutrition baby is getting. If...

    Formula math question

@disciplemattias ???? I did not say it went by the amount of water used. I said it’s the nutritional value of the powder used. If you look on your formula can and it tells you that 5oz is equal to 100 calories, that means that your baby consumes 100cals per 5oz of prepared formula. Using...

    Formula math question

@sass Why are people downvoting this? You go by the nutritional content not displacement. If you’ve added 2 scoops then that’s nutritionally equivalent to 4oz not 4.5. If baby drinks half the bottle they’ve consumed 2oz of formula.
