    Help with leaks!

@throne Sorry to have to say it, but not all diaps fit all babies. :( Some brands fit different body types better than others. This brand might just not fit your baby's body at all.

    Help with leaks!

@maxx55 Orrrr too much space between the diap and his skin! So his pee falls straight down to the back where there's less stuffing.

    Starting a co-sleeping tradition - once a week

@rengb121 I coslept with my kids and made them a room when they were like 4 and nearly 3 just in case they felt ready, and both of them, right away, slept in that room and never looked back. I have always tried to make sleep a fun thing, and I think that's why they're such good sleepers still...

    Help with leaks!

@throne From what I know, bamboo's actually considered a synthetic material for the purposes of prepping. And even cotton though, I never prepped. You just have to be aware it absorbs less the first couple of times and that's it. But you haven't used any fabric softener or anything like that...

    Help with leaks!

@throne I think what's happening is the pee isn't getting absorbed in the normal pee area because the diap is too baggy. If the pee shoots around instead of going straight into absorbent material, then it might hit a spot that has little or no absorbency and you'll get a leak. Are your diaps...

    What to add?

@barthenson I disagree. I just sold my whole stash after a year and about a third of them had holes that were clearly a manufacturing defect (on the base layer, right where the gusset is sewn in). All of our velcro shells stopped sticking after only a few months. And when you get to spraying the...

    detergent q’s

@jmv It's a lot of trial and error. My kids got rashy from some detergents and not others, regardless of fragrance status. As long as the detergent is strong enough, whatever works works, imo. I would not use the beads though as those likely leave a layer of oils on the fabric.

    What to add?

@ashwalker What you like on paper vs. in practice might end up totally different. I agree that more variety is better for starting out. Even if you don't like pockets or AIOs, having one or two will help you if you ever need to troubleshoot if things just aren't working for you.

Has being an AP made you realise that your parents f’d you up? How did you come to terms with how you were parented?

@furiouscat4323 My shrink said that there are studies that show there's a built in failsafe in parenting. According to her, if you show up at least 30% of the time, your child will remember you as having been there. So how little were my parents there if I can't remember them ever having been...
