I’m stressing out and I don’t know how to fix/help my LO’s eating

@mattiehay My girl has been extremely interested in food and watching us cook/eat since 6 weeks. I'm thinking she will eat solids like a champ, because she certainly doesn't seem to care for her formula (Enfamil with Kendamil to make it taste better). I'm going to ask about solids at 5 months at...

    Can we overfeed our babies?

@goldielocks That's pretty normal, they almost always ask how much, how often. Most parents don't know the total oz per day. Right now my kid has jumped up to 5 oz every 3 hours, and takes 1-2 bottles overnight from 7pm-6am, with maybe a 2oz bottle to go to sleep on if she's a little hungry.

    Daycare says Cloth Diapers Uncomfortable

@trevorkian Don't let them use that as an excuse. I work in childcare and infants should only spend 10-15 minutes in a baby "container" before being moved to the floor or another toy. It is literally their job to play with and teach your baby, not leave them in a chair all day. It's chaotic but...

    Formula Feeding

@emann Hundreds of thousands of women choose to formula feed their children from day one, and that,s no different from the women who choose breastfeeding or combo feeding. Formula and breastmilk are both 100% safe and complete nutrition sources for infants from day one.

    Daycare says Cloth Diapers Uncomfortable

@ratchet30 The parent can also revoke consent about using sposies on the baby. In the baby room, parent is king and sometimes staff would need to do things we thought were dumb just because the parent said so (looking at you, parent who demanded we change outfit after nap and going outside.)...

    Paced bottle feeding?

@clarinetscore Avent Natural. My bub needed flow 3 from the get-go and you need to line up the nipple vent with the little notch in the ring for best results. Even with her Mam bottles though she regulates her eating just fine.

    Paced bottle feeding?

@clarinetscore The results or need for paced feeding is still undecided. I bought bottles that don't flow unless baby is drinking to avoid the whole thing.

    Can we overfeed our babies?

@monicats My 13 weeker just jumped from 3oz every 3 hours to 5 oz every 3 hours, so there's hope!

4 month old only eats 2-2.5 oz at a time

@comicbookcollege Yes, 2.5-3oz every 3ish hours. She's only just recently (11-12 weeks old) started eating 3-4oz consistently. It's usually closer to 3oz during the day and 4oz at night, she wakes up 2-3 times to eat. She's not afraid to tell the whole neighborhood when she's hungry lol.

4 month old only eats 2-2.5 oz at a time

@comicbookcollege It did take her 3 weeks to surpass birth weight but she has stayed on the 5th percentile curve (4 week weight check, 2 month appt, and 3 month weight check). She is a very happy and smiley bub and is meeting or surpassing milestones. Her doc still thinks she should be eating...

4 month old only eats 2-2.5 oz at a time

@comicbookcollege Mine was the exact same weight! Dropped to 5lb15oz before we left the hospital on day 5 (needed antibiotics). She comes from a family of 8-9lb babies so we were all surprised how tiny she is. Her older sister was born 8lb12oz. Some people just start tiny and stay tiny.

@mightyheart Feed her, and get a new doctor.

How to know baby is thriving with certain formula?

@littlepebble Reflux doesn't cause cmpa, so that doesn't seem right to me. Is she opposed to a drop of vanilla extract to improve the taste? Nutramigen doesn't taste nearly as bad as it smells.

4 month old only eats 2-2.5 oz at a time

@comicbookcollege Has she stayed on her growth curve?

How to know baby is thriving with certain formula?

@littlepebble Gentlease has milk products in it, so why would the doctor okay it if your baby has cmpa?

Why don’t more people use wool?

@peris1989 If you have any sewing skills or know someone who does (and doesn't mind being politely asked and compensated for their work) thrifting a couple wool sweaters and turning them into covers is hecking cheap! 2-3 decent sized sweaters made of at least 80% wool will make about 6 soakers...

4 month old only eats 2-2.5 oz at a time

@comicbookcollege "Should be" is an average, and babies will fall on either end of that average. My baby is the 5th percentile and at 3 months old has just recently started reaching the 24oz a day she "should be" eating. She's always stayed on her growth curve, eaten as much and as often as...

To switch or not to switch - gassy baby

@epistletimothy Do you stir or swirl the formula instead of shaking? Similac is super foamy and my naturally-gassy bub couldn't handle it.

    Formula amount

@jennylpkho Kiddo's total milk intake is around 30oz a day, so there's no need to curb anything. It's important to know the total number of feeding in 24 hours, not just ounces/hours. OP states her child doesn't eat overnight.

So glad we did cloth diapers - r/all had a room full of disposable diapers

@ladywind7 My kid went directly into size 1s, her cousin (born a month later) was so big the nurse had to call pedes to get a pack of size 2s! Some familes just have huge babies.
