    Dr says I’m overfeeding

@glen101 Overfeeding newborns is linked with increased health risks later in life. Are you doing something different from what is recommended on the formula container?

    Unmedicated birth advice

@catholic2001 You might want to try asking in r/unmedicatedbirth I had the same experience with my first, my mantra during my second unmedicated birth was "it's not worth it" (it=the epidural). I wrote this about how I felt afterwards.

Please share your 3yo morning getting ready routines because holy h*** I’m exhausted

@priya12 I finally started dressing them and brushing their teeth (basically fully ready except shoes) before breakfast while their bodies are all floppy and sleepy and it has been a game changer.

    Did r/ScienceBasedParenting just shut down?

@kevineto123 Yeah it was really a surprise to me too as there are so many good threads there. Cealdi.

    Did r/ScienceBasedParenting just shut down?

@runaway887 Different article for sure. The author participated on reddit and I'm fairly sure it wasn't the mod on a different account. I think her username was sciencecritical

    Dr says I’m overfeeding

@gnosticman To be clear, they have done studies about overfeeding newborns and they now know it is linked to increased health risks. So it's not an imaginary issue.

    Did r/ScienceBasedParenting just shut down?

@zastari She banned me for a similar issue last year - she banned anyone who disagreed with the claim that 100% of kids under 3 were worse off due to daycare. There was one study that suggested that, but that's not how science works.

@rsduncan Did you pump during the newborn stage?

    Did r/ScienceBasedParenting just shut down?

@mikehamme My daughter was the same. She is so social and even as a baby she loved it. She's still very attached to her daycare provider.

    Did r/ScienceBasedParenting just shut down?

@nupreacher There was a user who claimed *unstated credentials* who posted a very niche study from Canada that started all that stuff. Basically lead to the sub only allowing discussion of bad outcomes for daycare under 3. I proposed that a study about something like that wouldn't necessarily...

Toddler plates & bowls - Plastic? "Bamboo" (aka melamine)? Actual bamboo/wood? Something else? What does your family use?

@tobiahjude99 Corelle. We switch around 15-18 months to metal cutlery and corelle plates.

    Did r/ScienceBasedParenting just shut down?

@kellyjk She has issues, for sure. She did the same thing to anyone who dared question whether daycare was bad for all kids.

Pregnant at 42 and scared and anxious

@xeena That seems like the hardest part - deciding what you would do with the information. but if you can make that decision in advance and be at peace with it, you will feel much better.

Pregnant at 42 and scared and anxious

@xeena Some of your concerns can be addressed easily. Are you able to get the NIPT test and an NT ultrasound? Also since you had your kids they've become better at proactively treating PPD. There are better sleep training products out there. Also, your kids are old enough to participate in the...

    Lead anxiety

@ailsa62 I live in San Francisco. I begged my pediatrician to help me get a lead test that went below 2.5 and she said they do not exist. Lead remediation is basically pointless though given the amount of lead just falling off of poorly maintained buildings into the street.

    Lead anxiety

@ailsa62 I live in a city where there is literally lead dust in the air. We haven't found a way to test our kids' blood below 2.5. We can't buy consumer grade lead tests that work the way you describe. We don't have the money for a lead abatement contractor (and we rent). We live in recently...

    Lead anxiety

@ailsa62 Not according to the EPA. You can't get blood tests or home tests that get to that level of contamination, so we just have to accept we are all subject to that level of lead damage.
