    Secret day off...Update!

@maves Haha love it! I have a random half day off in July (time off that I have to use or lose). Can’t wfh as I have an in-person meeting so I’m travelling to London anyway. Seems silly to haul up there for 3.5 hours but never mind. So I booked a cheap solo ticket to go see the Cabaret...

    1.5 hr Commute 1x a week

@naila I do a similar commute (pre-kids/Covid it was every day and I don’t quite know how I did that). To do it 1-2 days a week would be a yes from me with that pay rise. I would get it written in your contact because of all the RTO hassle currently!

Anyone else not “crave adult interaction”?

@porven Yes I agree. Would quit work in a heartbeat if I wasn’t so sensible (like you, long-term financial benefits etc)! If I could find a job that meant remote working and having to talk to very few people I’d find it much easier. My team is nice and my work is pretty good. But I don’t find...

Do people with kids work *harder*?

@whitm11 Hard worker here but I’ve always worked my 9-5. Any overtime is if I’m happy to do it (always short notice) and it’s being paid. I keep to my deadlines or explain if there’s going to be a delay. If anyone (parent or not) is consistently working late then a manager will be asking...

My kid wakes up every day at 4am and I’m drowning

@mickaela My almost 2 year old has only woken up past 6am a handful of times in his life (all when sick or having a growth spurt). Normally it’s 5-5.30am but can be as early as 4am. We’ve tried everything (different nap times, bedtimes, snack before bed, wake to sleep, sleep training, night...

    Positive stories!

@pentzbar000 Just top hits from just turned 2yo from the last week or so: he goes “bloody hell” or “stupid council” whenever we hit a pothole in the road went to the zoo for his birthday and I asked him what he thought the elephant was called. He turned and very seriously said “Albert” like he...

Our 16 day old son is an extremely hungry boy. He just drank about 130-130mL of Enfamil Gentlease

@mirchev Same here. We were up to 120-150mls by week 2 every 2-3 hours. He started on the 9th and is now 9MOs and on the 75th percentile. He likes his milk and food! With the boob hunting mine could never latch onto me so we EFF. However he could latch onto dad like a champ! We used to use it...

7 month old won’t drink hypoallergenic formula

@forhisglory115 We changed 20mls of the bottle each day when we swapped our guy over. By the time it was about 60% new formula we tried a 100% bottle and he took to it done. I’m in the UK so have different brands so can’t comment on that part I’m afraid.

What was your most and least favourite stage of the first year?

@manga006 6-9 months was hard. He could sit up but couldn’t roll or move anywhere. He was so angry and frustrated. He wanted to be doing stuff and just couldn’t so lots of anger. He started walking at 9 months and got a lot happier. Though big sleep regression at 10-11 months which almost...

    Leaving baby?

@sherina Not at all. We are a month ahead of you and he’s only been left once alone with my mum without one of us there (he was 4 weeks old, we were gone for barely 1.5 hours and he slept the whole time so as far as he was aware we never left him!). A second time I was out for barely an hour but...

First time dad , have question about formula

@silvia74 We formula fed from pretty much day one. Did ready to feed for one month and then moved to powder just made up exactly how the tin said. Do the transition slowly as powder can cause constipation. So we would do 7 feeds in a day and started with 2 each day as powder for a week, then...

I did a comparison of all the big brand name formula prices...and the imported stuff are actually cheaper?

@bobf1009 God that’s extortionate! I always assume bigger cans. I’ve never used Kendamil but google tells me £11 for the classic and £14 for the organic. I’m lucky as my son has CMPA so his special Aptamil milk is free on prescription. People seem to struggle to get that sort of milk even...

@bobf1009 I always am shocked at how much US formula is. For an 800g can of Aptamil it’s £11 in the UK. Do you have bigger cans?
