Is having a second kid really worth all the trouble? It looks exponentially harder to go from 1 to 2 kids than zero to 1.

@christopherpriestley I’m assuming you are in the US or a place with a similar culture. There are a lot of miserable parents in the US. Learn about parenting in other cultures before you decide whether parenting two children is inherently miserable

    Unmedicated birth advice

@catholic2001 Hypnobirthing helped me a lot to relax but you have to practice it a lot during pregnancy (or at least I found it helpful to do so). Start as soon as possible. Body ready doesn’t seem to be as mentally focused so I would also do a mental prep like hypnobirthing not just body...

    Are Pampers Pure really clean?

@ashtonbriscoef2w I was not happy with pampers pure from a safety standpoint but unfortunately I can’t remember why. Was happier with kudos from a safety standpoint and they’re not much more expensive

Anyone else walk into a big box store and feel like they’re the only ones awake in some sort of toxic capitalist matrix?

@doubra I just don’t bother to walk into the center aisles at all. The edges if the store is all there is. Also many stores now do free ordering. So you can just order what you want and pick it up from the store and don’t even have to go in. I do feel really sad when I see what is allowed to...

    Baby registry items

@joyful111 Skip bottle and wipe warmers. You don’t need to warm those things just leave them the temperature they are. Skip bottle sterilizer. You don’t need to sterilize bottles just wash. Skip diaper pail. It’s an overpriced trash can with a lid. Skip infant loungers. It’s a freaking...

    do you tell your pediatrician?

@tjschaffer I hate this so much because pediatricians should be educating everyone on safe sleep 7 for safer bed sharing. But no I don’t tell. There have been people accused of child abuse for bed sharing. As disgusting as that is.

Pediatrician ok’d LO be frontward facing for hip seat carrier at 2.5 months and now I’m worried

@jven79 Pediatricians don’t get training on baby wearing. I would really question whether she actually has expertise in this area and if so where did she get it

I need stories of your kiddos moving to their own sleep space

@bloodboughtchad Frankly kids bed share until parents set and maintain a boundary that they sleep in their own bed. and no longer . You can do that whenever you feel want whether it’s now or in a few months or years. Plenty of kids desist on their own. It usually looks like a natural slow...

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@kapr Read your own source again. There’s a very important sentence in there that you’re missing 😘

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@kapr The paragraph you quote doesn’t refer to guidelines? The guidelines in question are based on evidence? I’m not talking about every guideline to ever be put out by any org The meta analysis in question is an example of meta analyses not comprehensively covering the entire body of...

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@kapr I am not asserting that guidelines are evidence. Wow you are really confused. I explained my issue with the meta analysis above. Feel free to read it. DK-Dunning Kruger

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@kapr You’re right. The AAP and CDC do not base their guidelines on evidence. You a random redditor cherry picking studies from pub med are far more qualified than those scientists that constantly review the entire body of literature and update recommendations…I mean clowns. /s in case that...

@overground55 Put the mattresses on the floor . Safer that way anyway.

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@stageandgrace Source. Provide source to back up your statements. Provide source addressing the AAP and CDC recommendations. Again, I do not care if you personally breastfeed. Even if you didn’t simply because you do not want to. That is your right and I fully respect and support it. But...

    “Cosleeping/bed-sharing creates dependent children”

@jess75 I would ask the dr to show your the evidence backing his claim. If a doctor is making a claim they should have high quality research backing it up. There isn’t any. But that way you’ll be able to see that it’s just made up BS in his his head.

@stageandgrace Provide source for your claims. Argue with the AAP and CDC. Go on now.
