“mY kId iS sUcH a PiCkY eAtEr”

@syncakes Hi! My 5 year old is a true picky eater. Mostly processed bullshit for his 5 “real foods” and will eat most berries. His younger sister does not have this problem, eats great. It’s so frustrating and nerve wracking having a picky kid, but it doesn’t mean the second will be too. Idk...

Can’t have a third kid :( please remind me why it’s ok?

@ztalbott I have two close in age (18 months) and they are super close..so far. I think the culture you create and the relationship you foster has such a bigger influence than number of children

Why Did I Become a Mom in the U.S.?

@tammyfish12 Pregnancy is going to be very state dependent now. Since roe v wade (our federal abortion protection, based on a Supreme Court ruling from the 1970s) was repealed by the GOP many (mostly) southern states have put in very strict bans against abortion. This is leading to women in...

Why Did I Become a Mom in the U.S.?

@jamie73 Which is exactly why I’m having my tubes removed in two weeks before THAT choice is taken from me too. If we were in any other country, or this country didn’t suck so bad, we would easily have another kid, maybe even two more. But it’s just not an option in the current reality of life...

Why Did I Become a Mom in the U.S.?

@momofcj My school was close to the county jail, they were more of a “lockdown” than true active shooter drill I suppose. But same basic idea- stay in place and be quiet with lights off while the entire school is locked. Sucks for you if you’re in the bathroom when this happens.

Why Did I Become a Mom in the U.S.?

@hawk56 my school was near the county jail. I Guess these were more like “lockdowns” than actual active shooter drills, but same general idea: stay quiet, hide as a class in the class, and sucks for you if you’re in the bathroom when it happens.

Why Did I Become a Mom in the U.S.?

@hawk56 I graduated high school in 2009 and we had a few active shooter drills while I was in school but not nearly as many as kids today. ETA- my school was near the county jail. I Guess these were more like “lockdowns” than actual active shooter drills, but same general idea: stay quiet, hide...

Under stimulated baby: is it concerning???

@momof2napril Is your baby meeting all the expected milestones and thriving in her growth and development? If the answer is yes then what you’re doing is fine. It’s just different parenting/family dynamics. If your SIL is more a extroverted and “on the go” person in general it makes sense she...

Why Did I Become a Mom in the U.S.?

@aklil I have two, and lucky able to get my tubes removed in a few weeks. We wanted another kid, it’s just not an option anymore with how life is set up here. If it’s any consolation, the active shooter drills haven’t seemed to effect my kindergartner at all. Of course he doesn’t really...

Waking up 3 times a night and nursing is easier than having to wake up at 6:30 and drive to a job

@lestertiek If you call and tell them your partner is suicidal they will send cops and/or EMS to the scene. A lot of times they’ll bring the person to the ED to get cleared (suicidal thoughts are a medical emergency). From there the doc will either clear them to go or put them on an involuntary...

Those who do Santa Lite... tell me your ways

@traceyn My son called me “Santa mommy”. So we still do all the stories and fun stuff but he knows Santa doesn’t bring his presents. Sometimes we will put the pets or wild animals on the “from” spot. It makes it fun lol
