Why is it so hard to make mom friends??

@elzappozah Do you work full time? (I assume you do, given you're confused by the library activities being at 10am on a weekday - they're for SAHPs/grandparents/shift-workers to take younger kids to after school dropoff, and people usually take their kids there to make up for lack of daycare...

WIBTA for not wanting more kids/suggesting that one of us gets “fixed”?

@globug54321 Taking it often is probably going to make the PPD worse, too - the drops you get after the end of a pregnancy (however it ends), or at the end of breastfeeding, can easily drop someone into depression.

@raffy Not already, surely? I'd hope that most are still in the process of dying...

Tired of “words I can’t pronounce”

@brendanjamesstephen I expect learning what something is also helps you pronounce it? Like, the "no ingredients I can't pronounce" people are basically saying, "I understand this ingredient so little, that I don't even know how its name is said, so I shouldn't eat it or put it on my face."

    Am I the bad guy

@jlkuhioe Would he prefer you did the "getting ready for the day" at 5am? He's probably vaguely aware of you guys pottering downstairs throughout the morning, and getting poor sleep during that time. He actually might prefer if you had got all the clattering done earlier on and then gone out...

Here's a laugh! Apparently my 8 month old is a "typical only child"

@chucara My limited experience reflects this, too. My theory is that only children aren't made to share, so they only share when they want to, and have positive associations with it. Whereas kids with siblings are more likely to associate "sharing" with "parents taking away the thing I wanted to...

How would you respond to this?

@whitney11 If 5yo is wearing a coat, they aren't going in the car. (Coats don't combine safely with carseats.) If other families walk past their house (or can easily detour past their house), opening the front door and saying, "quick, let's get shoes on and walk with so-and-so!" would probably...

When do you have appointments for yourself??

@barry61 Do you have any SAHP friends who might be happy to take an extra toddler while you're at your appointment?

How would you respond to this?

@osky How do you "not let them"? Honest question. I only have one kid, but if I turn around to get the breakfast out if the cupboard, he disappears with his trains behind the sofa! (Mine isn't allowed breakfast until he's dressed and has brushed teeth, though - it's rare that we're late...

Anyone on here who’s partner isn’t an abusive a-hole?

@ayakuro This! When times are happy, we're there enjoying our families. When times are bad, we ask the internet for help.
