How did my mom do it

@j2019 Oh geez. Then my only explanation is that she is built different🤣. I say that jokingly but also just different people have different thresholds for stress, and that’s okay. I think the vast majority of working moms feel exactly like you do. I know for sure that I do! Moms like yours are...

How did my mom do it

@j2019 What was your mom’s schedule as a nurse? Did she work the typical 3 shifts a week? Because that leaves you with two full days where the kids are in school to get stuff done!!!! Don’t be so hard on yourself. I’m right there with you in being overwhelmed and exhausted at all times.

How did my mom do it

@j2019 Ok so you are basically doing 12 hour days 5 days a week vs 3! That’s a lot less free time.

Can’t Lose the Damn Weight - 2 Years Postpartum

@morirach I know, I don’t even do anything crazy or go on vacation, because I haven’t even taken one. But if I stop counting macros and doing strict cardio I gain it all back. I also had a miscarriage and gained 10 more lbs within a 3 week period. I’ve basically decided to just do my best for...

Can’t Lose the Damn Weight - 2 Years Postpartum

@morirach I probably could have written this😭. Exact same boat. Last year I lost 20lbs but had to go to extreme measures and when I went back to “normal” (working out 4x week, not counting calories/macros but aware of what I eat) I gained it all back. I feel like this weight is my new set point...

    Anyone else hate working?

@liz555 100000% agree, so burnt out and just don’t have that desire in me. However, I also really like being independent and I’ve had my own income since I was 15 and first started babysitting and working summer camp. So not having income terrifies me. I also fantasize about part time WFH, but...

    Working Mom Life Hacks?

@ayleeann My in laws have almost an acre and pay $65! Maybe price out some other options? I also think prices are good here bc there is a lot of competition for lawn care companies and a lot of folks willing to give a reasonable price to get your business

    Working Mom Life Hacks?

@quedee For the yard, we simply couldn’t keep up without a grass cutter. It’s $35 per cut, it’s so worth it. They come 1-2 weeks during spring/summer and less frequently in autumn/winter. We do hello fresh, premade/frozen meals from the grocery store, or takeout. Don’t have the mental energy...

If you work in office M-F and have a short commute (5-10 minutes), how do you feel about your setup?

@onkos1 Working 9-3 with no commute is a dream. I would give anything for that. Definitely do it!

Considering quitting to SAH- looking for perspective on kid in full-time daycare

@billyli Just commented but lurking through this post and commenting again. Maybe it’s idealistic, but I feel like as attorneys re-entry is more like than other professions? If you keep up with your CLE, stay up to date on the law, keep up some of your connections…. I find it hard to believe you...

Considering quitting to SAH- looking for perspective on kid in full-time daycare

@billyli I am so similiar to you - I’m in big law and have a child in montessori daycare. I am full time right now but we are on the horizon of making a decision about me getting out of big law or out of the workforce entirely and some days I feel crazy about it. I would also want to keep my son...

    1.5 hr Commute 1x a week

@naila Once a week, definitely worth it for that big of a raise in my opinion! I would want some assurance it will never be more than once a week though. Once a week, you can almost look forward to it as a time for audiobooks, podcasts, and a break from the evening routine. Your spouse can...
