@petercm We live in rural Minnesota so no public transport unfortunately. Fingers crossed ours gets better at 18 months too!

@sanjose1982 Rotating toys definitely helps for a bit, but she eventually reaches a point where nothing will distract or calm her. She’ll just close her eyes and scream🥴 We haven’t tried snacks though, maybe I’ll get some puffs or yogurt melts to try!

Breaking great-grandma’s heart for not letting baby CIO

@karryme Ugh my baby’s already fighting her first cold, I don’t want to expose her to even more illnesses😩 I didn’t even mention this concern to my mom because the response is always, “you can’t keep her in a bubble, how else will she build an immune system?”🙄

@elimatt She does have horrible reflux, and I think this is a big part of her car seat problem!

@beverly3 Good point about talking to her Dr! I’ve wondered if they make nausea relief bands in infant sizes😂

@mauann Now that’s interesting! She hasn’t been in the car that early since she was a newborn and we drove her around to fall asleep (she was easier as a newborn, ironically lol)

Breaking great-grandma’s heart for not letting baby CIO

@jestrada Was there anything other than time that helped your son be fine in the car?

Breaking great-grandma’s heart for not letting baby CIO

@wren84 I absolutely would regret not seeing her more if something happened, that’s why this situation is stressing me out so much! My baby is named after my grandma, so she’s very important to me. I just feel sick about putting my baby through a torturous car ride and then exposing her to all...

@rewind2grace Correct, baby hasn’t slept in the car since 4 months. She also won’t sleep in the stroller.

Breaking great-grandma’s heart for not letting baby CIO

@ineedjesus1 Thank you for the info on CIO, that definitely helps with the mom guilt! Meeting her halfway would definitely be more doable, so I’ll probably see about doing that next month. She’ll probably still be sad about not spending Christmas with us, but it’s better than nothing!

@mrwallyboy78 I actually thought about offering to host. I know they wouldn’t go for it, but it’s worth a shot!

Breaking great-grandma’s heart for not letting baby CIO

I’d like to know if I’m out of line here. My 8 month old baby is an extremely sensitive, high needs baby who hates car rides with a burning passion. If we’re in the car for more than 10 minutes she cries, screams, hyperventilates, even chokes on her spit and stops breathing. We also suspect she...
