@acclay Also having an air purifer at work helps too. I'd ask your daycare if they have air purifiers for infection control (or even team up with parents to donate a few for your kid's room if the center accepts them). In this thread I also made some recommendations for kids masks if your...

    F**k viruses

@acclay Wearing a good N95 mask helped me keep free all infections. 3M aura masks are really great. I do everything I normally do with it (go shoping, doctor's appointments, etc). I would just stay away from big crowded spaces of unmasked people though (so no rock concerts) if anything. Here you...

    F**k viruses

@mark45 Yeah, it doesn't even have to be covid that gets you anymore. Anyone that has had a prior covid infection may is not more susceptible to infections that normally your body wouldn't have a problem with. On Good Morning America when discussing the rise of respiratory illnesses (00:58 of...

@luvtogrow2 You can do this. Take an air purifer with you (largest you can get-2 if they allow) and have it placed near you and baby. In your birthing plan ask that all staff mask around you and baby. Then once baby is home make sure ANYONE that sees baby wears an N95, is vaccinated for covid...

    F**k viruses

@mynameishephzibah For babies in daycare you should totally advocate for clean air. Ask daycare centers if they have air purfiers in the rooms (or if they'll consider using them if they are donated). Also, asking what their policies are around illness (are sick kids sent home? are staff fully...

@jessyblue Oh it sucks. IEPs are a nightmare. I've had to go through them with my own child too. It is a traumatizing process to even go through. I'm so sorry your family has can't have masking as an option. I wonder if then you can focus on other mitigations like clean air? I was able to...

    F**k viruses

@jessyblue Please mask your child. My newphew, also autistic was able to mask even with an oral senory issue. However, it was a long task trying a ton of masks to find the right one. Maybe look for a mask bloc organization in your city to see if you can try some of the child sized N95s for free...

    F**k viruses

@jessyblue Please tell me you are masking. You can stop getting ill w/a simple mask. My family has done it. So many people who are getting covid over and over again don't realize how they are messing up their immune systems. And every covid infection increases liklihood of long covid which can...

My husband called me a f*cking b*tch in front of our 2 year old and won’t apologize

@doots Google John Gottman. He is a psychologist who writes and has a lab on couples research. He did a famous study on predictors of divorce and contempt was something that was a huge predictor. Your spouse shows contempt/hate towards you and not only is that unhealthy but emotionally abusive...

@katrina2017 NASA grade filtration! Wow! That is awesome. We need a clean air act of sorts for schools and public places. Just take a little of our huge military budget and give it to schools, hospitals and businesses to make upgrades (and this time with receipts or qualified vendors that meet a...

    F**k viruses

@mynameishephzibah Yeah, I saw on the Today Show that were having a surge of covid around the country. Right now the wastewater data is showing there is also rsv going around too. Anyone can check what is going around in their city here- it was so eye opening for me. Also on Good Morning...

Being a SAHM when you’re sick is impossibly hard

@iampaul24 Have your husband take a day off work to care for the kid. It will help him attach to his child and allow you to rest. Hubby needs to pull his weight (remember in sickness and in health).

I caught my 13 year old boy calling a little girl a “b***h”

@georgiana I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but I think a conversation about the following: rejection (and how to cope with those feelings), healthy relationships and what is looks like when we are disappointed/and how to cope, what is means if someone can't respond immediately or simply...

    F**k viruses

@mynameishephzibah You should ask your daycare what they are doing for infection control. 2 large Air purifiers in every room should be the minimum and kids over 2 as well as daycare workers should mask during covid surge times (which is right now).

    F**k viruses

@oliviate It's coming in from other people who go out sick or are asymptomatic (so they don't show signs but can still pass on illness - which can happen when older kids/adults have rsv, with covid, or even things like hand, foot and mouth disease). So if you're in poorly ventilated spaces...

    F**k viruses

@helasomething Please mask with in N95 so you don't get reinfected. Repeat covid infections raises your chances of getting long covid. I like 3M Aura masks for adults as they have a comfortable nose padding and the seal is good. For kids I wrote a response to someone else post with loads of links.

    F**k viruses

@bluechap Seriously. Please write your elected officials and local health department (if you can and have the energy). I'm advocating for clean air at my kid's school but it really should be legislated. Just like when we learned water should be filtered to prevent cholora, now that we know alot...

    F**k viruses

@rhemajoy Oh goodness. Please mask up and try to avoid reinfection. I've heard long covid is the worse and can be debilitating (plus no cure either). I am so sad that most schools and daycare centers didn't upgrade hvac systems to clean the air back when there was government money to do so. Now...

    F**k viruses

@sol4j Oh I hear you. I have immunocompromised family so I'm well aware of risks but sometimes you just gotta meet people where they are at and even if you help a few it can help on the chain of transmission.
