    Best Onbuhimo for farm life

@aractus I’m not sure Sakura Blooms are made to get dirty, they tend to have fancier fabrics. Mine is linen + leather and while it said it was machine washable online, the instructions said hand wash and I can’t see it making it through the washing machine.

    Best Onbuhimo for farm life

    @tytyty For wearing in a barn? 🤣

Baby Sittinf Low in Omni 360 Mesh

@weeoz I’d flip your baby inwards until his head clears the panel, this is an asphyxiation hazard as-is. Forward facing in general isn’t great, and if you could inward face or back carry that would be much preferable. If/when you flip him inwards you’ll need to wear the waistband higher, and...

What’s the best option for baby wearing after a c-section?

@snoweh I used a K’tan, but I’d think anything stretchy would be fine, and a ring sling wouldn’t put any pressure on a scar either.

How important is C shape in 8 month old?

@esdivine7 You won’t get a C unless baby is relaxed and is laying their head on your chest. Make sure your waistband is high up though, it needs to be touching your ribs if not higher if your baby is tiny. If you wear it down on your hips the way Artipoppe advertises their carriers it’s going...

    Help me choose a carrier

@wr2 I’m pretty sure Tula makes an additional lumbar piece you can purchase. I personally bought their ‘Free to Grow’ carrier as it’s much less bulky than the explore. Since your kiddo is already over 20lbs you’re not realistically going to be able to wear them facing out, they’re too heavy and...

    Best Carrier?

@xd005 An Artipoppe isn’t going to be functionally different from a Tula, if anything they look like they have less adjustment options. The only reason to buy one is for higher end fabric choices and Instagram clout.

    Help me choose an SSC

@calso This is kind of a tall order, I can’t really think of a carrier that fits all of this criteria. Your kiddo is reaching the size where they’re going to be a bit for baby carriers, but won’t fit into a toddler carrier for awhile. I really can’t think of anything that spans from 12 months...

Baby hates being in a baby carrier

@weakservant It could be a fit issue, you could try posting a fit check! The fit on any carrier is going to basically be the same from baby’s point of view.

Sling/wrap you can put on over a sleeping baby?

@brineheart Definitely do not use the carrier you linked, that’s a bag sling and absolutely unsafe for a sleeping one month old. If you’d like to read more on that you can search the internet for “bag sling deaths.” https://www.carryingmatters.co.uk/sling-safety-how-to-use-a-sling-safely/

Desperate to find a good carrier r/babywearing

@realist1981 That's going to be the case on most (if not all) full buckle carriers then. I agree a meh dai or half buckle would solve that problem, but they are slower to put on and less convenient when you're out of the house.

At the point of wanting to burn my ring sling

@blessedj316 Honestly if you’re this frustrated I’d stash the sling for awhile and switch to something easier/with buckles. Try the sling again when your kiddo is bigger (they’re great for hip carrying a toddler, it’s not as crucial to get the support perfect on a kid who can stand/walk). It’s...

First Time Actually Baby Wearing Suggestions

@jacklong If your kiddo is already 15 lbs I would not buy anything stretchy or meant for a newborn. That rules out stretchy wraps, Ergo Embrace, “easy” carriers like K’tan and Boppy Comfortfit, etc. I really like Tula, they make a ‘Free to Grow’ carrier that comes in a lot of fun fabrics and...

Considering baby bjorn mini but not sure if it’s right for me!

@wrshamblinjr That baby Bjorn isn’t that great for baby’s hips, the seat is narrow on it. I’d look into a structured carrier that can accommodate a newborn and grow with them like a Tula Free to Grow or an Ergo (but there are a ton of brands out there!). You want to look for a carrier with a...

    Help deciding on SSC!

@mcferguson These are all nice carriers. I know that happy baby and hope & plum have active Facebook pages, you could poke around there and see what people are saying about fit. You’d have a much bigger concentration of people using those carriers there.

Desperate to find a good carrier r/babywearing

@realist1981 The Aerial is going to be like your Lark except bulkier/more padded. AP is not worth it unless you purely love the looks, functionally it’s not going to be better. Do you know if it’s the cross back straps bothering you? Would you rather have H straps? Or the apron waistband? I’d...

A&L onbuhimo defects: seeking for experiences

@lady6wheels You can honestly review brands here, no problem. If they’re selling defective carriers and not offering to make it right people should be able to see that.

    Summer carriers

@leilanee Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think both NP & A&L are small businesses making their own carriers. I've seen good reviews for them here, but I'm not sure their carriers are miles better than a carrier made in a factory. It's more of a conscious consumerism thing, supporting...

How did you choose a baby carrier/wrap?

@juragankacang Regardless of carrier style make sure you get one where baby’s legs and bottom are fully supported knee to knee. There are some carriers out there with a narrow base (like this baby bjorn: https://www.babybjorn.com/products/baby-carriers/baby-carrier-mini/) that are not...

    Cross straps vs. H straps

@christian_countrygal This is really individual to your body. I’ve found I much prefer H straps, cross straps tend to ride up and pinch my neck in an uncomfortable way.
