When you see parents of multiples favour one over others..

@louismartin I lived it - my mom favorited my sister very openly and obviously and it was straight up emotional abuse. If you don’t think you can show your children equal love even if you secretly love one more, don’t have more than one child. This is one of the biggest reasons we are OAD.

@gmalaurie I like that. I could probably stop the conversation real quick with some graphic birth details. I like it.

@necronomic I mean, “None of your damn business” is also a perfectly acceptable response imho.

    Little things that solidify OAD

@gabriel1986 Omg. I was nannying another little one the same age as my daughter when it came time to potty train. It made sense to potty train both girls at the same time since they were together all day. I thought it might even be a little easier because they'd "learn from each other". Guys...

When you see parents of multiples favour one over others..

@josh_r12 I am so sorry for your experience, and that it has extended into your adulthood and to your son. For what it’s worth, you sound like a compassionate and empathetic parent who is raising an awesome kid….who got a lot of his awesome from you. It’s so hard because when we are children...

@necronomic While I’m OAD by choice, my heart goes out to people like you who are not, particularly in scenarios like this. I can’t imagine how much more hurtful it could be in your situation, and I think it is absolutely inappropriate to question someone’s reproductive choices for that exact...

When you see parents of multiples favour one over others..

@louismartin I had to normalize the emotional abuse in the form of extreme favoritism to cope with living with it. For years I told myself that I wasn’t cute and charming like my sister, and I was just harder to love. The “harder to love” eventually turned into “hard to love” in my mind, and I...

When you see parents of multiples favour one over others..

@phydaux Your poor hubby. That really sucks. My sister was the golden child, and I moved out as soon as I could and have been hearing about it for the past 20 years. Now that we both have kids, my mom super favors my sister’s eldest daughter over my daughter and my sister’s youngest, and it’s...

My six year old and I did a girl’s day the other day. She got her hair cut, we went for coffee, and then we had manicures. It was kind of a big deal - I don’t get my nails done and it was my first time in over 10 years, and was my girly’s first time ever. I was really excited - it’s something...
