How are some bassinet style sleepers with 'soft mattresses' considered safe?

@crash1 I had one of those fisher price bassinets and yeah we did just wash the mat if there was a mess and moved him to the pack and play (raised bassinet, with net, not one that sat on top) We mostly used it to have something safe to put him in on different floors from our bedroom.

Anyone else want to go back to 1992 when every single grade didn’t have a “graduation” ceremony?

@monkeym24 This is so annoying. I only graduated twice (high school and college) and frankly that was more than enough graduation ceremonies

Husband has concerns over Covid vaccine

@serenity777 While I agree the vaccines need to be updated for new variants, aside from things others have posted, vaccinated people have a lower risk of developing diabetes after covid infection than unvaccinated...

Is OAD becoming more common in part because parenting is harder now?

@jackofall our parents are all retired but they are also in their 70s and can't help much. Plus they complain about not getting to see him enough, but keep traveling so we want them to quarantine before they visit, and they like to invite us to things or visit in the middle of his nap and get...

Has anyone been a SAHM during the day while husband is at work and then gone to work in the evenings? How did it work out for you?

@lesbian5eva It's going to entirely depend on how your baby sleeps. I know people whose babies were reliably sleeping through the night at 3 months, and then there's mine, who rarely slept through the night until he was nearly 2. I am still not entirely fit to fold laundry at 9pm let alone...

No one takes birth trauma and current financial state seriously

@timedragon1 How could I forget? Every day I am confronted with the fact that my body is different and even though it was nothing to write home about pre pregnancy I really really hate how I look now. And I had a relatively easy pregnancy. But was also over 40 when I got pregnant

What was the moment you knew you were OAD?

@hazeleyes25 I was very much a fence sitter who always thought I'd have strong feelings one way or the other and then I hit 40 and got surprise pregnant. The only way I would have two is if it had been twins. And I'm glad it wasn't twins. I mean, there is a part of me that is a little sad I...

    Why is overworking a flex?

@katrina2017 Virtue signaling by people who have to prove how busy they are by having meetings every second of their work week so they can avoid doing any actual work? I seriously think I would be more productive if I worked 4 6 hour days because I would have fewer intrusive thoughts of shit I...

FTM — All my baby hand-me-downs clothes reek of toxic detergent and I can’t wash the smell out

@ch3apshad3s Do you have the ability to hang things outside in the sun? Literally the only way I have been able to neutralize the stench of fabric softener. I've had to hang things outside for DAYS

    Why is overworking a flex?

@atlkate Well i would definitely stop working 8:30 to 5:30 then. "Due to summer Friday hours frequently being booked over I will be returning to 8-5 schedule for the rest of the summer " Also Friday afternoon meetings are for psychopaths anyway
