Doctors think my 1 year old has type 2 herpes. I’m at a loss

@strongerthanthefist Where are you? I'm in Canada. I thought it was a basic mandatory thing because of the risk for the baby. It's just an obvious thing to do. But I wouldn't be surprised if in the US it's not part of the general exam, considering how little the government care about their...

Doctors think my 1 year old has type 2 herpes. I’m at a loss

@strongerthanthefist But they are required for pregnant women because if they have it, they need to be prescribed an antiviral to reduce the chances of contamination to the baby during birth. I know this because that's how I found out I had herpes. I had done STD screenings a few times in my...

When did you send your only to preschool?

@magdalenab I'm shocked kids are going to preschool at 3 years old! Here in Canada (or maybe Quebec 🤔) the minimum age is 4 and the common age is 5. I'm gonna wait until 5.

    Just a gentle reminder…

@zeezaa1 I think they might have asked the parent to comsent to that. A lot of parents don't care or don't know the risks. Regardless of what parents agree or not, the school should know better than doing something that poses a danger to the kid.

i hate when people say “i wish i have/had twins”

@diddle I mean, not dismissing your struggles, but there's no way for people to know in advance you had all these complications. Complications can arrive with one baby pregnancies as well, so when people say they wish they had "your number" of babies, they are obviously not referring to the...

Sad that my husband only wants one

@okieallday Only child here. I looooved it. Having a room all to myself, having undivided attention and resources from my parents. I could do any activity (music, sports, etc) because there was no problem trying to come up with better logistics of picking up and dropping off multiple siblings...

Felt like a fool for going to A&E with reduced fetal movement

@salif This midwife can go to hell. It's your babies and you know their routine better. In the end, if anything had gone wrong and you hadn't go e check, the midwife would not be the one affected. So yeah, you did right and she can go f herself.

    Baby B loss

@luckyavalon1989 I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't understand what you said, though. The baby was measured 2 weeks ago by two different doctors and the size they saw was different, is that it?

Can anyone share a happy story of formula feeding from Day 1?

@tabbycat11 Couldn't breatfeed and my daughter was given formula right from the hospital..we attempted to breastfeed for a couple months, but she never latched. I suffered a lot with guilt in the beginning, but my daughter is 20 months and thriving. She is perfectly healthy and well developed. I...

Is it better to give my baby as much breast milk as possible in 6 months or space it out in smaller amounts for a year?

@molinist Wow, I never managed to breastfeed nor pump, so this is something I had no idea about.

    The Big 3 5

@hasanali147 34 years old here. Started trying in January. I feel you. My fiance is younger than me and he believes it will come any time soon. Haha. Men can be very unaware of odds at our age... :(

Pet Peeve On These Parenting Reddits..

@jsphalford11 I think this bothers you because you haven't read the book "how not to be bothered by people recommending books". This changed my life in so many ways. Trust me. Just an hour per day in your free time to read it, that's all you need. It helps if you skip a meal here and there or...
