Is it possible to take too much parental leave?

@jdthcstl Dude, take every ounce of it. I had just changed jobs so was a tad short on leave but still got 12 weeks plus any sick time I wanted to use. Prior job was the same way and it was surprising for men to take the full 12 weeks plus several weeks of sick leave. Unless you are the sole...

How long should dads take paternity leave if they can afford to?

@sonnybaker I’ve only taken 2 weeks so far, I have 4 more that I plan on using when mom goes back to work. Granted, I work from home so I can run down and help really anytime. Then she starts day care at like 6 months old. Granted mine is fully paid and hers in mostly fully paid. My last job I...

@bongorob You sound like me. I took 2 weeks but have 4 more I can use. But working from home is a game changer; I will hop downstairs whenever I feel like it to help/see my girls.

Solo trip w/o wife @36wks: good or bad idea?

@kurari B is an absolute hard no. I would consider A but would heavily depend on how wife felt and how good a friend were talking. When my wife was 36ish I took a work trip an hour away and was nervous the whole time. She ended up getting induced at 40.

@benaiah2015 We’ve been insanely lucky with our little girl, she’s been essentially the perfect baby. And it’s still exhausting.

@laughter Just curious who you work for? If you don’t mind. I work for the gov (kind of) and thought I had it good at 6 weeks, for the father, but that sounds like gold. My wife used to work for nestle and I think they offered something close to what you have.
