    Accidental third and torn

@davidlionheart Going from 1 to 2 kids about killed me. I believe I had (undiagnosed) post partum depression and it was awful. I felt like a shell of an human for the first year. Adding baby #3 was so easy compared to adding #2. Also think of what in the baby years was stressful and see if you...

    I’m boring

@antnf8900 I listen to podcasts and audiobooks any time I am doing a mindless tasks (laundry, dishes, cooking, etc). My mind feels like mush otherwise.

    Schedule for your day?

Oh and in terms of giving kids enough attention, we’ve started doing once a month one-on-one dates with each kid so they have that to look forward to. We do it each month on the day of the month they were born so there’s no forgetting who goes when.

    Shared underwear/clothes

@zondaar39 My boys are 7.5 and 6 and wear the same size. They still are cool sharing clothes. They have different styles though, so honestly I can tell 7.5yo will wear the khakis/t-shirts while the 6yo wears jeans and sports jerseys, so they self “police” who’s stuff is whose. They share a...

    Baby Gear Feedback

@eveningfirelight This is the way! My “nice” baby carrier lives in the house and my older/faded baby carrier lives in my car. So nice to have 2 so I am never without one while out and about.

    Hand-me-downs or new?

@jdn2604 Another thing to consider- sometime in the not to distant future the older 2 may be wearing the same size even though they are 2 years apart. I have 3 boys in a row (5.5, 4, 2) and my older 2 wear the same size now, so hand me downs aren’t as efficient as they once were. I still...

    Which transition was hardest?

    @texan2 1 to 2 about killed me. 0 to 1 was pretty bad, 2 to 3 was easy, 3 to 4 wasn’t too bad.

    Captain chairs or bench row

@hekter We choose a minivan with quick slide captain chairs and I love it so much. We push the 2 captains chairs together and have a little walk way/loading area on one side. For us it makes school car line super easy for kids to get in/out of and loading kids in is super easy. The 2nd row...

If you have 1 SAHP and 1 Parent working full time…

@akdamar The best thing I did as a SAHP was to hand off bed time to my husband. Now (almost) every night he deals with bath/stories/bed while I relax or work on house stuff.

    Parenting hacks?

@katrina2017 Yep, everything is sorted into tops and bottoms, but other than that it’s just in the drawer. It helps that each kid only has about 10-12 shirts and pant and they don’t like anything fancy so it’s all just t-shirts and cotton pants for the most part. I started doing in once they...

    Parenting hacks?

@dp797 I have 4 kids, ages 5 and under. My biggest hacks are clothes related. 1: I stopped folding kids clothes. Cotton shorts/pants go into one drawer, t shirts go in another drawer, dress shirts (1/2 per kid) hang. Such a game changer! 2: Each kid only gets one brand/style of sock. This way it...

    Teaching Skills with 3+ ?

@argentwarrior 4 kids in 5 years here. We don’t do it all, but I firmly believe the benefits of a lot of siblings close in age outweighs the lack of one on one time to focus on those things. For reading, we all go to library story time together, we all sit and read a story together at bedtime...

Preschool options with new baby on the way

@lynq Is there any errands you’d run by the 3 day a week school? I’ve chosen preschools that were a bit farther away but were close to pediatrician/stores/gym etc so instead of going home while my kiddo is in preschool I kill the 4 hours by running errands and going to appointments and...

Does your working partner help overnight?

@daisy83 We have 5 kids and our rule is that I am in charge of all middle of the night newborn care while my husband deals with all big kid wake ups. That means I am always waking up multiple times in the middle of the night while my husband could get lucky with either 1 or no wake ups from the...

Future FT SAHM and looking for things to get me & baby out of the house at little to no cost

@summer63 If you are ok with something with religious undertones (they are hosted at churches) I highly recommend looking to see if there is a MOPs (mother of preschoolers) group in your area. While not completely free it’s like $30ish for the entire year of meetings/playgroups/moms night out...

    Potty training help!

@sjbraunlich I don’t know the ages of your kids, but we have had success with “gating” off a hallway with a piece a furniture like an ottoman that the bigger kids can crawl over without help but the crawling baby cannot climb over. Maybe something like that would be a solution in your case...
