    “Cosleeping/bed-sharing creates dependent children”

@emmy0922 I didn't bed share with my parents as an infant, yet as soon as I could walk, I would walk into their room and sleep in their bed each night, I think until the age of around 5. The same has happened with my niece - they did not bed share with her, but she now walks into their room and...

    “Cosleeping/bed-sharing creates dependent children”

@claysmithr I guess there's money to be made in making us feel like our children aren't sleeping the way they "should" be, whatever that actually means!

    “Cosleeping/bed-sharing creates dependent children”

@jess75 I think the biggest evidence against bed sharing creating dependent children is this - it's only relatively recently in human history that we have had separate sleeping spaces. In multiple cultures, it's still common for families to bed or room share for years. You don't see adult...

    On a first-name basis with 2-yo

@perplexed812 I had a feeling his might have been mama as it was a sound he babbled from an early age - I can't wait to see my husband's face when he does finally call him dada. But for now he's Mama 2

@tarag My boobs have definitely been called mama, too!

    On a first-name basis with 2-yo

@youngdad98763 Haha, it's funny how they don't always see the difference at first. I'm surprised it hadn't been seen at daycare before

@tiei That sounds like a slightly different form of the old belief that crying expanded/exercised the lungs, which we now know not to be true.

When did your ovulation/ period return EBF

@benstiller12 Oh, definitely! Currently nearly 5 months pp and no period, but I have had period like cramps quite a few months running. I am curious about what that means!

When did your ovulation/ period return EBF

@benstiller12 So, in order for your period to start, you need to ovulate first, which is why sometimes people get pregnant before their periods get back up and running.

    On a first-name basis with 2-yo

@stop_cern_idea My 14 month old has only just started talking. I'm not sure what he'll be calling us when he's 21 months, but for now both my husband and I are Mama. It's both hilarious and sweet. It has made me a little smug as my in-laws were insistent he'd say Dada first...

(Spoiler: Funny) The DANGERS of bed-sharing 👿

@rigogpu My brother told me to get the cat used to sleeping outside of the bedroom, as he'd be a suffocation risk to the baby. I'd done a load of research and found no evidence of cats suffocating babies, plus the cat had briefly lived with my neice when she was an infant - he didn't go near her...

(Spoiler: Funny) The DANGERS of bed-sharing 👿

@elliot44 He used to be perfectly fine sleeping next to me, but around the time I went back to work, he started to crawl on top of me and stay there most of the night. I'm guessing it was because he missed me. I'm amazed at how well I sleep like that.

    “Cosleeping/bed-sharing creates dependent children”

@apostolicfaithone1 I feel this, as I'm sure a few others do when reading this comment. My parents tried their best with the knowledge they had, but there's a reason why I am an anxious people pleaser who finally started therapy when my son was 5 weeks old. I did baby led feeding, I just see...

(Spoiler: Funny) The DANGERS of bed-sharing 👿

@fightingbull542 Same - I worried so much about bed sharing at first, and what it would mean going forward. We've got a sidecar crib that was used until he was about 4/5 months, and I keep thinking about using it again but I don't really want to. I love having him this close.

(Spoiler: Funny) The DANGERS of bed-sharing 👿

@yummymummy5 No one will tell you that you'll go from liking your own space in bed to looking forward to their small body pressed up, on, over yours. My husband came in one night to find the cat asleep on my legs and the baby draped across my upper chest, like some kind of toddler shawl. He...

@apostolicfaithone1 Thank you. I'm going to save this comment for those very few moments when I doubt what I'm doing and when the nights are hardest.

    4 month Sleep Regression Research

@iaian It's a long article, and not purely about sleep regressions (although there's info in there arguing that sleep regressions, the way sleep coaches describe are a myth), but I found this article really interesting...
