Pediatrician says I’m nursing my 4 week old too often - not sure what to do

@christopher000 My son was constantly on the boob until he was a month and a half. Even now, at 4 months old, he eats every 1.5 hours or so. And often nurses through nap time too. That pediatrician is an idiot. Feed on demand. Stop worrying about what others do or say. Just feed. Breastfeeding...

is introducing a pacifier at all a good idea?

@sh419ob Haha yeah I understand that. Personally I don’t mind but I know it would drive a lot of people up a wall. He also doesn’t have an uncomfortable or painful latch usually but some babies always do. If he does get a painful/uncomfortable latch I let him get what he needs and when he slows...

is introducing a pacifier at all a good idea?

@sh419ob It reduces SIDS but if you (safely) cosleep or bedshare then you can also use your boob as a pacifier haha. Seems silly, but I side lie and feed while asleep (keeping baby on his back and moving his head to the side) and he’ll keep pacifying all night

How much are you playing with your baby?

@coachlittlez23 Really at any age, if baby is willing to have some independent time I would go for it. Absolutely nothing wrong with (supervised) independent play time and it’s great for their imagination and development!

    do you tell your pediatrician?

@msdecember I used this delta children crib from Amazon it has adjustable heights. They also have this which is slightly cheaper and you could put extra wooden 2 by 2s on the legs if it needs to be any higher, plus it’s still adjustable and it’s cheaper. We had a bed frame, but we took it off...

One side or both sides per feeding?

@keke1223 I just do whichever side feels heavier, one side per feeding. In the newborn days, that meant I stuck to one side for a couple feedings sometimes too. For a couple weeks he’d only nurse from the left side and hated the right side altogether, so I would pump on the right side and only...

(Spoiler: Funny) The DANGERS of bed-sharing 👿

@yummymummy5 No one warns you that you’ll end up waking up to a leaky diaper at 3am as you wonder whether you can keep the baby asleep while you clean baby up and change him and throw a towel on the wet spot until you can change it tomorrow

    Transitioning Woes

@wren84 That sounds amazing. We have a queen. One of us had to sleep on the guest bed during the last couple months of pregnancy, couldn’t fit the pregnancy pillow 😂
