Can’t Lose the Damn Weight - 2 Years Postpartum

@morirach I'm in the same boat and I do think we need to eat different food than them. I'm trying to increase my amount of walking (12k steps a day most days) and have a salad once a day. If that doesn't start working soon, then I'll move to counting calories in/calories out with my fitbit, but...

Would you send your kid to daycare tomorrow?

@lmd0137 I go by a combination of the fever rules (for the actual fever limit) plus vibe and it sounds like for yours that would be going to school tomorrow if nothing changes.

@saziya124 I don’t think there’s much you can do there other than like bring a variety of snacks when you come over.

Anyone else want to go back to 1992 when every single grade didn’t have a “graduation” ceremony?

@monkeym24 Counterpoint, a motto I hold dear in my relatively tame life: “There’s never a reason not to party”

I am team crib til college. Change my mind

@neverbeenalone I took my barely 2yo out of her crib last Christmas to have the crib ready for a new baby and it was a horrible decision. Really made our time off (without childcare!) awful because she wouldn’t nap and slept poorly. Just a dumb move that I won’t be doing again.

I think I was threatened at work today

@diamondoutofdust Ugh I relate so hard to the symphony situation. Mine was also finicky every time I moved it!

@petersmith I had the same thing happen around the same age for wearing my baby at a botanical garden “so young” (and this was pre pandemic)

    PUMP Act blocked

@yunus061 What happened to the “just breastfeed” bullshit from the formula shortage?!! Outrageous

I think I was threatened at work today

@dormiles I would also think about how nice a legal settlement would be for the college fund lol

Please don’t feed my baby from your plate

@1shizueallen1 So besides allergies, the GERMS of feeding a stranger’s baby… wtf

Baby flipped to transverse at 39 weeks and now OB wants to schedule c-section without trying ECV

@cathyhlikesflowers I think it comes down to what’s more important- your birth plan or minimizing risk to the baby. The choice is obvious to me, though it certainly sucks to not get what you were hoping for.

Took a job 6 months ago that is hybrid. (Advertised 2 days a week) and they just announced they are going back to fully in office

@ilkhanapit Fully in office for a job that can be remote is outrageous

@lundvithr What’s with people like this? My dad has a negative comment on everything too. It’s so annoying. And I guess that’s how he was about everything before too.

@isaac0 I should stop writing comments and just direct here because you have said this better than I’ve tried to in several places through the post. Bravo

    Parenting discussion w/ husband

@gavenv So is he interested in actually learning about parenting? Because that is your first battle.

    Parenting discussion w/ husband

@gavenv Has your husband done any research on why he thinks this is a good method or is it coming from a place of “well, that’s how I was raised?” Because if that’s his strategy, getting him on board with the idea of learning how to be a better parent is the first step.

    PUMP Act blocked

@kimosabe2019 PA crew- we are really at risk here. There is a lot of movement towards restricting abortion with no exceptions (not even medical!!!) and it will happen if we don’t keep the governor as a dem. Very scary.

Can someone give me information on parental ABO blood types and the different possible outcomes?

@mikeysavedbygrace Side story to that- I was in the hospital for a month while pregnant this year and hospital policy required me to have my blood type checked every 3 days, as if it was going to change. I’d ask about the result each time to mess with the docs/nurses lol

Just my critique of that day care Medium article that is always circulating this sub as it relates to nannies and familial care

@david3r1 Totally, my 3yo does a lot of activities at preschool/daycare and is always trying to get me to buy the Montessori “work” that she does there so we can do it at home too. But it’s totally impractical to replicate at home for space reasons if not money! And her teachers are so skilled...

    Tipping Daycare Teachers

@katrina2017 He just moved to the 18-36m room so we didn't give anything while he was in the 12-18m. One of the teachers he had in that room left so that just leave his other main one. I think I'll probably give her something, I think. Good to know about the floaters. I should have gotten some...
