    i don’t wanna pump anymore

@brandon_d I directly breastfeed, no pumping unless my baby randomly sleeps through the night and I wake up engorged. It’s supply and demand, so I make exactly what he needs. I hate pumping and could never make it comfortable enough. It does suck to be pinned down for long periods of time but...

Pediatrician says I’m nursing my 4 week old too often - not sure what to do

@christopher000 Umm what, I would personally disregard that advice unless your baby is legitimately overweight. Let the baby decide when they’re hungry. 3 weeks isn’t the only growth spurt, they’re going through them constantly. My 2 month old has been cluster feeding all day and actually...

Why should I not let my baby “use me as a human pacifier”

@yoshinat0r Mine comfort nurses a lot and I love it. It’s so precious. But I’ve found that once he’s in a deep enough sleep, he doesn’t notice anymore. Sometimes he’ll really dramatically unlatch with a POP and fling himself on his back totally knocked out, or sometimes I’m able to break the...

Driving 5/ 6 hours (without counting breaks) for Thanksgiving with a 2 month old. Would you do it?

@graced1257 All finances and pathogens aside, I still wouldn’t do it. It’s really emotionally difficult on everyone if the baby is crying while in the car because you can’t really do anything. Even on short rides it’s hard for us. He screams bloody murder and if my husband is driving I’ll sit in...

So am I just never going to wear a “normal bra” again until I’m done?

@katvan1969 I absolutely love those target bras and wish I found them sooner before so many other failed Amazon purchases. I also bought the Larken bra but it’s not nearly as nice. The material really holds onto body odor so if I even walk outside without sweating I’ll smell like body odor the...

Setting up a routine isn’t a priority right now

@terrastorm Do you mean a routine or do you mean a schedule? I definitely still go with the flow in terms of scheduling his naps and feeding and everything. Everything is on demand. But I do think it’s important to establish a routine, like rituals. It’s something stable to ground you and the...

Traumatized from watching my wife labour

@lcnolen2022 Didn’t sound like any of that to me, that’s just you assuming things from one brief sentence.

Traumatized from watching my wife labour

@lcnolen2022 You’re getting downvoted because you know literally nothing about this specific woman’s case with her breech baby. It could have been life threatening. You don’t know the circumstances surrounding it. So coming in here like “acktually” is useless and annoying. And the point was...

Sibling gender (biological sex at birth)?

@elam84 Looking strictly at the way gamete production happens, no, I can’t imagine there’s a pattern. Sex is determined by the sperm, and it’s a 50/50 on the baby’s sex. Any patterns that are specific to certain couples can probably be explained by the timing of sex or something rather than...

C-Section Babies and Probiotics. What’s the science?

@evebr777 I know, I was talking about the mother eating homemade food so that milk proteins aren’t given to the baby via breastmilk. I know the baby doesn’t eat much real food, if any, at 7mo.

C-Section Babies and Probiotics. What’s the science?

@james_1991 It does seem like it would be easier to get the special formula unless a parent stays at home and has enough time to make every food from scratch. Some people are great at that, I’m not though lol

I need help - baby is not gaining weight

@apa You can still breast feed and then top off each feeding with formula, so that baby can get benefits of both! That’s what we did for the first couple of weeks. It also helps maximize your milk supply so that you may be able to EBF later

C-Section Babies and Probiotics. What’s the science?

@lolad Oh, interesting! I didn’t think it would impact breastmilk but it makes sense. I was imagining you were putting milk in a sippy cup or something lol. Thanks for explaining

C-Section Babies and Probiotics. What’s the science?

@lolad This might be a silly question (Pregnant FTM) and I’m sorry to answer your question with a question, but why not just avoid cow milk? Or is there a particular advantage to kids drinking cow milk? Or is it just difficult to avoid in premade foods?

    Unvaccinated Nanny

@danil999 Yeah, same. This is a huge red flag and I wouldn’t trust her with my baby.

Sibling gender (biological sex at birth)?

@comicbookguy It’s better to look at it like “SAME” or “DIFFERENT” which is two options instead of 3. Whatever sex the first child is, there’s a 50/50 chance the second will be the same or different.
