Doctor said my 6mo needs PT

@springwillow It may be early but what’s the harm? If it’s referred can you get it covered by insurance or health care ?(depending where you live). I would take PT if it was offered to my kid because I think its a great experience. My son was offered a speech pathologist from birth because of...

    Confused about sleep and formula

@nader1 My first baby didn’t sleep at all. We coslept out of necessity ( I followed all the recommendations to minimize the risks there was a very helpful post the other day about this I’ll find for you if interested) Second baby, is a unicorn. Sleeps 8 hours then another 3 every night with...

What happens to poor sleepers who aren’t sleep trained?

@ebveloz My son was a brutal sleeper. We didn’t train and I 100% responded. He just reached the milestone on his own. Slept through the night later on. He just needed extra support at night early on. Anecdotally as well, I was sleep trained with CIO. I had extreme night time anxiety. My...

Cosleeping vs bed sharing for 4 month old

@xuanang01 If you have Facebook follow the Beyond Sleep Training Project. They are a group which helps people who don’t want sleep training but want safe sleep. My son was an atrocious sleeper and they were a huge help. If you bedshare (I did after 4 months for the same reason) make sure you...

When did you stop tracking everything for baby (e.g., nursing sessions, wet/soiled diapers, sleep duration, etc.)?

@christiangirl94 I said never tracked. What I mean is never formally tracked. All I did was make sure it seemed normal. I probably would have started tracking if he had few dirty diapers or fed infrequently.

Any basis to “babies don’t know they’re separate from mom until x age”?

@nik2015far I don’t think them being able to recognize a face proves that they understand their mother is separate and can walk away any moment and leave them unattended. Those two things are separate things to prove.

"Cry it out" is not a well-defined term

@dickwilson I find, just anecdotally, that my friends that sleep training worked for had kids right about to be able to sleep on their own anyway. They just needed a little push. My son was not at all in his first 1.5 years. I just knew as his mom he wasn’t ready. Once his baby monitor shut off...

"Cry it out" is not a well-defined term

@dickwilson It’s not a skill you need to be forced into. Choose what you want to do with your family but those of us who don’t believe it’s a skill to be learned but a milestone to be passed are allowed to do that too. The point is to not judge. Do what’s best for yours. I’ve responded to my...

@pastor_rob Try The Beyond Sleep Training Project group on Facebook they’re amazing and have experts to give great advice. They’ve saved me through multiple sleep needs changes of my son who is a naturally difficult sleeper but we’ve found great ways there to change his sleep. Obviously they’re...
