    Do you all accommodate any kids activity/sport you can? Or do you draw a line even if you COULD make it happen?

    @dennisbon Some of my best memories are playing sports. My parents weren't often involved but they always got us where we needed to go. Also, like you, I struggle. We have had a rule of 1 sport per session; per child. In reality, sports seasons overlap. Summer camps overlap with spring/fall...

    Preschool Graduation at 9:30am

    @berthaatijerina Now, that's just ridiculous. Do you really think the childcare doesn't want parents there? They communicated it in the newsletter. OP missed it. I have missed plenty in newsletters.....but it's not the schools faults that I didn't fully read.

    Preschool Graduation at 9:30am

    @berthaatijerina That falls into the can't accomidate everybody category. For whatever reason, more than a month ago, they determined they needed to change the program. They provided ample notice for everyone to try to make the necessary adjustments. It's unfortunate that some people need more...

    @berthaatijerina I wouldn't consider a month, last minute notice.

    Preschool Graduation at 9:30am

    @kmdickinson There is literally no time that all parents can come. 12 hour shifts, 2nd/3rd shift, swing shift, travel requirements, multiple children with events at the same time in different schools etc. Missing out sucks but even an 7 pm event excludes parents.

    a question of entitlement

    @kezia I know how disruptive it can be. My 3 are home for all the breaks (sometimes with sitters, sometimes not) But even my 4 year old knows that if the door is shut, mom can not be interrupted unless it is an emergency. We are still working on the definition of an emergency; but he is 4. I...

    a question of entitlement

    @kezia I hire young teens to babysit my kids. I am a bit confused about what parenting is really needed. Think about how it would be handled if you both worked in office. They would just stay home, right? Treat it like that. You don't need to chauffeur them around.

    What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

    @infomommax We have 3 ... we didn't plan on #3 but he is here. I found going from 1-2 harder than 2-3. We both work full time and have limited family around. I have read some people's concerns, and here is what I have found works for us. Dentist and medical appointments are often scheduled...

    What is it like going from 1-2 or 2-3 kids with 2 full time working parents?

    @infomommax Technically close in age assumes similar drop off but when mine were 1, 3 and 6 I had 3 diffirent drop offs. We have now consolidated to 2 but it will forever be 2 since the oldest will start middle school when the youngest starts K. At the same time it was just a point in life. It...
