@noldoxis I recommend “To Dye For” If anyone’s interested in learning more about toxic dyes / fabrics / textiles / waterproofing etc

The 'not your birthday present' tradition my M.I.L started

@jackiecline Imo this is how you get kids with “I’m the main character” issues who don’t know how to hear “no”. My ex in laws did this too, and my ex was super entitled about life.

    How DH “does the laundry”

@elle9406 Lmao omg yesssss, my husband is the fucking worst. I posted the other day and described this too. He gets random specific clothes of his and washes them and puts either specific things or the whole load in the dryer, and if there was already stuff in there he leaves them strewn on...

Dads breaking generational abuse, how do you discipline your kids?

@utay62 A lot of the not knowing what to do to get kids (esp boys) to listen comes from not actually knowing them as individual people. Ie, what specifically, intrinsically motivates them. What are their fears and what events have shaped that. What do they love. Everyone wants to be...

Are we the only ones struggling financially?

@sunflower232 We both have very well paying jobs, 1 kid (paying premium for a nanny due to our demanding/odd hour jobs), fortunate enough to be debt free minus house/cars (took years), and we have not been able to add to our savings the past few years. I’m glad we aren’t going backwards but very...

Solo-dadding for 3 days while wife is gone, and just took it from a 0/10 night to a 10/10 morning

@chriscb Most of these posts are just men with children looking for some attention.

@kingv Yeah I'm trying not to be hard on myself since I'm responsible for this baby. I know you don't need meat in pregnancy but it's hard to meet the ultra high protein demands in the third tri without it. I can only drink so much milk, almonds, cheese, etc. I'm getting sick of eggs and haven't...

    The Final Straw w/ Husband

@fpecaku1 I reset mine at the very least 3 times a week. It helps keep him charged through the next 2-3 days with only 6 hours minimum of sleep every night, he gets up and leaves for work around 5 am back home around 8 pm, asleep by 10:30. It seems to be working so far. Even off hitch he’s up...

Do you all accommodate any kids activity/sport you can? Or do you draw a line even if you COULD make it happen?

@dennisbon It's a lot, but yes if my child was passionate about something I absolutely would commit to it. I would just figure out a way to make it work. We are women, we always do. Maybe after this round of competitive soccer you can reevaluate. Would kiddo be just as happy back in the rec...

UPDATE: I (24) recently found out I have a 5yo son I never knew about and now he lives with me

@mercantilewriter This actually made me tear up. You are a good man.

Recently made friend bathed my child while looking after her (5 yr old)

@spiritualgrowth It could be completely harmless, especially since you're sick and maybe unable to bathe her yourself, but it's a massive failure of judgment for her to bathe another person's child, especially in the same tub as her son. I would not have any further contact with her, but I also...

    I don’t like my daughter’s friend. And they’re 7

@olly91 There is nothing wrong with correcting her. Your don’t need to be nasty but you can certainly tell her when she is being impolite. She may not be getting this guidance at home. And if she disobeys rules at you house the consequence is that she’ll have to go home. If your daughter is hurt...

"pUt YoUr BaBy DoWn GrOgGy BuT aWaKe"

@pushkin When he was a newborn we had trouble waking him to feed. Nothing worked, undressing him, pinching his feet, nothing.. except placing him in his very expensive bassinet! The irony...

Tired of “words I can’t pronounce”

@genxjeff Major eye roll every time. I feel you. Those same people will put essential oils on their newborns skin and make their own medicines in the non-sterile kitchen sink. I hate it

@jacknife omg, trader joe's cowboy bark is the most amazing thing ever! Gotta keep it in the freezer so I don't eat the whole bag in one sitting. Also I'm being a bad vegetarian and bought some meat the other day for chicken tortilla soup and turkey chili. I feel kinda blah sometimes like I'm...

Has anyone been a SAHM during the day while husband is at work and then gone to work in the evenings? How did it work out for you?

@lesbian5eva I could definitely handle this. Your baby will be going to bed around 6 or 7 at the latest. You’ll have the afternoon nap to tidy up and prep dinner. It’s imperative for your baby to nap so you’ll need to nap train if it’s not happening naturally.

Got an 'answer' for my "next level" velcro baby. I was too stressed while pregnant.

@nazpastor I also have a velcro/high needs baby. I hoped that he would be like his brother. Calm, sleeping alone…instead I have a baby whoseda screaming and crying reaches a decibel level of 120 (it’s really painful), cries when I leave him for 10 seconds, cries when I put him in his bassinet...
